Nicknames: Sophie Loaf, Loaf, Loafie!, Loaf of my Life, Little Miss Gorgeamous, Chunky Butt, Sophilicious, SoFeerocious, Sophie snort-snort, Little Mama, Bunny Rabbit, Angelface
Birthday: July 4th 2000
Coloration: Patched Tabby
Likes: snuggling with Mom, eating carpet lint, lounging in the sun's rays, admiring myself in the mirror (really I do!), talking to my mom and following her everywhere
Pet-Peeves: my brother picking on me, having my face wiped clean by Mom, getting baths (see photo!)
Favorite Toy: I love the laser toy that Mom has hidden somewhere! I also like any light beam...
Favorite Nap Spot: On a dining room chair or on top of my crinkle bag
Favorite Food: raw yellowtail
Skills: I am a highly skilled model (and attention whore) and truly love the camera (and it loves me). I also love to have lengthy conversations with anyone who will praise me for my loveliness and grace...(I just keep saying, thank you!)
Arrival Story: I was four months old and at a cat show (my first and last!). I saw my mom walk by and knew by the way she looked at me that she was smitten. I had already picked her to be my mom and just had to get her to pet me. When she did, she couldn't resist my cuteness. She is definitely the mama, and everyone else is "not the mama", but I still adore all my fans just the same.
Bio: My mom is my biggest fan ever! She says that I am a complete love, but that's just because I can't hate any humans (except those that refuse to adore me!). I am very sweet, but a bit shy, so I prefer it when new people move gingerly and speak softly so that I don't get frightened. Once I know you, though, I like to beg for attention to the point where you might start to get annoyed. I just can't get enough pets when I'm in a lovey-dovey mood!
I also have a couple of strange habits which you can read about in the extra fields below.
Lives Remaining: 9 of 9
Forums Motto: I am the Loaf of Mom\\\'s Life!
Sounds I Make: I snort and sneeze on a daily basis because I am always getting things up my little nose. I also squeak like a little squeak toy when Mom picks me up for some grooming tasks when I don't want her to. I've also taken to snoring when I sleep. This has been going on for the past year and provides my mom with a good reason to laugh at me!
For you Scottish Fold Fans...: As a typical Fold, I do the Buddha sit and the prairie dog sit quite often. Mom always tries to take a picture of me doing the Buddha sit, but I am a bit embarrassed! She got me in a modified Buddha sit (see pic), but not a full one! Not yet...
Crab Walk: I have a certain walk I do when I want attention which Mom calls my crab walk. I hunch up my back like an inchworm, meow repeatedly and step sideways away from you in a little dance. I always get pets when I do this, so I do it a lot!
Wool Sucker: Mom says I am a "wool sucker" which resulted from me being weaned too young. I love to suckle on cotton, and when I'm snuggling with my mom, I'll suckle and knead on her pajama sleeve. I know it skeeves her out a bit, but I can't help it! I've been known to do this on the t-shirts of other people that I really like and it grosses them out too!
I wonder where Taiko is? He ventured outside on 3/18 to explore the outdoors for the first time ever and now it's the 30th. No Taiko. Mom is beside herself, lost weight and hasn't been sleeping much. I know she's tired and sad and I have been turning up the love for her. In one way it's cool that I am the top cat right now, but I really want Taiko to come back soon so that we can take naps together, play grab-ass, and so that Mom can finally rest and heal her aching heart. Little stinker, let your radar kick in and come home already! I miss you too, butthead...
Many thanks and purrs to Catster for featuring me as a COTD! Wow, what an honor...And tons of thanks and purrs and head bonks to all the wonderful Catster members who sent such kind words and wanted me to be friends with them...My whole family is always happy to make new friends!
Thank you to all of my wonderful feline and human friends who have given me birthday wishes...My mom and I aren't thrilled about getting older, but we are birthday buddies (Mom's birthday is coming up in a few days). She was sooooo sweet to me this morning, gave me extra treats and talked to me more than usual. So of course I got really talkative too...I wish she and I had nice morning chats more frequently, but she's usually in a rush...she had to go to work today (not fair for humans when it's a national holiday! Mom should be home with me today!), but she had a little more time so we got to have that lovely chat...
Again, thank you so much for the birthday wishes...*blushes*
