Arrival Story:
In September 2006, my Siamese, Jazz passed away from a stroke. I was inconsolable. So when Christmas rolled around, one of my best friends called and said I should expect to see Santa Claus on December 15. Sure enough, on Dec. 15, there was a knock at my door. But it wasn't Santa. It was a Manx breeder who drove 150 miles to deliver a ten-week old female Manx kitten with a huge red bow around her neck. I've never been so shocked in my life!!! I named her Calamity Jane after my favorite character on the HBO series "Deadwood." Can you believe such loving friends?
Bio:
CJ was very, very ill the first year of her life, and I didn't think she was going to make it to her first birthday. I think many people would have euthanized her--she was that sick. Multiple vets diagnosed "Manx syndrome," a common genetic defect. But the last vet we tried gave her a $6 bottle of pink antibiotic--instant cure!! We consider Dr. Booth our guardian angel. She cured CJ--then disappeared!
