Arrival Story: Have just adopted Heather from a friend at work - her aunt had the kittens and this one has a special story.
First I have always longed for another kitty since the passing of Mackie, and since this one was gray & white and with such a story ... how could I refuse?

Bio: This kitten was born about 7 weeks ago, and was still in the embryo sac, the mother wasn't going near it. It seemed lifeless so my friend's aunt and cousin decided to take the kitten outside and well, dispose of the remains.
Because however because one of the women was curious as to what the 2 lifeless kittens looked liked they opened the embryo sacs. One was black and the other gray & white. The aunt looked back and thought she saw the leg move. Thinking the impossible she went back to the cousin, Heather, and told her this. Not believing it they both went back and nothing but suddenly when they were about to give up they both saw it - the leg on the little gray & white kitten a ball of gray fluff moved.
When they saw the leg move, they realized the newborn was alive but barely. With courage I would not have had they removed it from the sac and one of the women, Heather, gently used cpr methods to revive the kitten. And it lived.
Thus this is her story and why the kitten is named Heather, a female. Dubbed the terrorist for well, just being a kitten.
Somehow this one deserved a home.
A story of survival indeed!

Well it has been a long time - that bloody kitten is what almost 7 months old now?
Has she been in my "hair" only that long? Lord but it seems like longer.
For the most part she's ok as cats go or in this case a half grown kitten. We eat together and sleep together if the mood suits me. And we both are the official taste testers I might add of the dog's food. Yes that Andy is still here the lovesick fool slobbering still over that kitten and our mom.
And yes I play with the mite when it suits me but I give her a good hiss if I am not in the mood if you know what I mean. I mean an even tempered adult cat can only take so much!
But I still fuss around our mom when it suits me - no changes there.
And that kitten will have the stuffing taken out of her very soon I bet as I did. As she will soon head to that bloody vet for surgery - and she will come home staggering as if she's drunk just like I did.
That may tame her a little bit I daresay - but she will recover soon enough as I did.
But all in all life is good, we are in where it is warm and safe. Clean litter most of the time and plenty of food. Yes, life is good.
Well I hear that can opener rattling - must be time to feed Andy - so gotta go.
Until the next time, it is I, Heather on the cat beat!

Look don't go believing everything that canine brother of mine says ok?
Well it is true I do disappear when company comes - it is just he acts so princely I decided long ago it was safer to avoid the whole situation.
He acts so foolish, like a lovesick fool - and now he does so with that new arrival that kitten Lady.
Look she is ok in my book - I play with her when it suits me but only to a point - I mean look I have my limits.
But mostly we are all friends and get along.
But just don't believe everything Andy says is all I am saying - he called me a "wussie" I mean really?
Really I am not - I am just more comfortable around when it is just us around - Lady, Andy, myself & my mom.
I am cautious perhaps but a wimp and a coward? Never!
Yours,
Heather

Well I tell you! She just had to do this! She brought that kitten here one night in my carrier no less!
And that foolish drooling dog Andy of course just loved her - he washed her ears and wagged his tail like a lovesick fool all while that kitten spat at him!
Not me! I was insulted! First I sniffed at her, then caution got the better of me so I backed away carefully you understand to the basement - to my usual safe house - the wardrobe. Much safer.
Sometime in the night well frankly duty called and I was hungry so back upstairs I went - that kitten was sound asleep in the crook of her arm.
Not to be left out I perched myself on the dresser and looked down at them most of the night.
Dog as usual was either on the floor by the bed or on the bed with her the lovesick fool - always has been goo goo eyes for our mom he has he has. Still he has been my friend since I came her won't deny that.
Oh well, that was over a month ago now - and that kitten has made up with Andy and he washes her ears - it looks so funny though her with soggy ears ... and lets her sample his food just as I do - like I am going to let that kitten move my place out of her any time soon - not bloody likely!
I have tolerated her finally - she is good company like the dog and I do play with her now & then when it suits me. And I still fuss around our mom when it suits me and I do what I always did and am treated no differently than before. But that kitten sure is one cuddlebug let me tell you. Doesn't even run from company yet - ha! She may learn the better of that! Time will tell on that.
But I have learned to accept the little minx at least. But we are in where it is warm and are all loved. And we are company to each other. Life is good.
Until the next time, this is Heather with the cat beat!
Yours,
Heather
