Arrival Story:
Bumper was hit by a speeding car and left for dead at the side of the road. Some kind person brought him into work (I'm a Vet Nurse) and it looked pretty bleak. He suffered massive head trauma and his brain swelled up, putting huge pressure on his skull. He was in a coma for 7 days, and when he awoke he was brain-damaged. We had to take one day at a time, he learnt to walk/eat/jump all over again, for 3 weeks I had to nurse him like a kitten, despite the fact that he was 5 years old. But a very sad start became so much better, as he went from strength to strength and now, 2 years later he is 'almost' normal.

Bio:
Bump is the oldest cat in the family at 7 years old. He is a short-haired moggy and is HUGE! He suffers from a few problems, hence his low number of 9 lives left! AS well as his brain damage, he has permanent nerve damage to the left side of his face. Because of this, he scratches this side of his face until it bleeds and is raw. He has to wear a fantastic invention called SOFTCLAWS to stop him doing this. He eats far too much, so is always slightly overweight, despite my best intentions! He gets stressed out very easily, and has FLUTD, which is a Urinary Tract Disease meaning that crystals form in his bladder, which are very painful to void. Bless him! He pess all over the furniture and is on permanent medication, which settles him. He is so loving, and thinks he's a dog rather than a cat. He is content to sit on one's chest and purr for hours on end. UPDATE - Bumper lost his fight with neurological disease on 19th January 2005. It was the hardest thing we'll ever have to do, and he'll be forever missed. We love you Bump! xx
