Arrival Story:
I first met Purrl when she went by the moniker of "No Name". I was a marketing rep. for a veterinary supply company and was on a sales call with a sales rep and we went into a veterinary clinic in Vader, Tx (near Houston). We went into the clinic and this fluffy, gray cat started following me around, sitting on my laptop bag and my feet. Finally after 10 minutes or so, I picked her up and she started purring as she lay on her back in my arms, her feet in the air. All of a sudden, the Veterinarian said "What are you doing?!", his face had a look of shock on it. I replied "Petting this cat? Should I put her down?". He answered "No one is ever able to pick her up or pet her, take her home with you!". After speaking with the vet and tech's further, I discovered that Purrl had been dropped off at the clinic months prior and they had named her "No Name". She was the clinic cat and very persnkickety and didn't allow anyone to touch her. Her previous owners had declawed all four feet and her only defense was to bite, which she did, a lot. That's why everyone was so shocked I had her in my arms. Unfortunately I could not take her with me at that time since I had flown into Houston from Dallas. So, I flew home and couldnt stop thinking of this cat. I even had dreams about her! Two weeks later I called the clinic and asked if I could adopt her. They replied with an emphatic YES! I drove down 3 weeks later and picked her up. She's been my shadow ever since.
