Rainbow Bridge
August 31st 1982

Arrival Story:
Mommy wanted to adopt twin tabbies, and she fell in love at the shelter when she saw me and my twin brother, Boingo, in a cage at the shelter. We were 8 weeks old.

Oingo and Boingo (named after the 80's band, Oingo Boingo) were the loves of my life. These two kitties were inseparable; they did everything together. I adopted them during my college days in Santa Barbara, and the two of them spent their days inside and outside lounging in the sun, playing and having fun. They wore matching bandannas and they did everything together as you can see from their pictures; from eating together, sleeping, climbing trees, playing, drinking from the toilet (MOL!) they were joined at the hip. Boingo lived to be 20 years old; he had a tremendous life. Oingo, sadly, was hit by a car when he was only one year old. I couldn't make a page for him.... until now; I still cry when I think of him, so young and innocent. But, I am now ready to celebrate his short, very loved life, and remember him through Catster. Being that he went to the Bridge so long ago and that he was so young, these are all the pictures that I have of him. I know he'd love to be friends with all of you.... he is a love on Earth as he is in heaven. Cheers, sweetest Oingo.... may you dance and play in the catnip fields of the Bridge, united with your brother Boingo, furever...

My twin brother and I are going to be 29 tomorrow; MOL! Well... I did only live to be 1 year old.... I was hit by a car when I was but a kitten. It broke mom's heart and my brother Boingo's heart... however I'm celebrating that plus 28 years as an Angel at the Beautiful Bridge! We're trying to CATch up with our sisfur, Perky, who recently turned 41! MeWOW what an old timer she is! Boingo lived a long and happy life and didn't come to the Bridge until he was 20 years old. Bless him! I am happy to be reunited with him, always and always more. Come join us in celebration!

I hear an echo.... I think my twin wrote the same thing in his diary. What a copy CAT. *giggles*

My dear furrend Scarlett posted a most important diary entry. She is so articulate that I "stole" it and am reporting it too. Please dear furrends, it is very important that my sisfur Eve's death not be in vain.

From our dear Angel Scarlett:

All the Bridge Angels were celebrating today because the Cat's Meow featured our darling Angel Eve!!! Her story has touched the hearts of caring people around the world. Quite an accomplishment for one little kitten!

Meowmy wanted me to post an update. She and Mommy Terry, along with friends and supporters of Eve's, have written to the government officials mentioned below. As of today, they have received a total of 0 responses. It seems Eve's mommies and their furriends are being ignored by those in a position to help improve the situation at Okefenokee Humane Society.

In Eve's memory, all the Bridge Angels are asking any of you who can to contact these people, asking for an inquiry into Eve's case and conditions at OHS. If enough voices are raised, perhaps we will be heard. We'll be sprinkling angel dust for luck!!!

Tommy Irvin, GA State Agriculture Commissioner:

Mary Green, Head of Animal Protection at GA Dept.of Agriculture

Tele: (404) 656-4914

Dr. Blount - A vet serving on the Board of Directors of OHS. He has been sent the complete story of Eve, her photo, and a copy of the petition. He has yet to respond either to Terry or me.

Gail Boyd, Ware Co. Manager: I wrote her asking for her help in contacting the Board of Directors of the OHS. I explained Eve's story. No response.

Ware County Commission: These people oversee the elusive OHS Board of Directors and deal with their budget. This link has emails and contact information for at least some of the Commission.

T hank you and bless you all~

It is SO nice when friends remember you and keep your spirit alive! I went to check my mail box to find that I was TAGGED in the Valentine Tag game by my sweet friend MCKINSEY! Oohhhhh, thank you! *happy purrrrssss*

So, here is the game. The game is Valentine tag.

1. Do you have a valentine?
You BET I do! My Valentine is my one and only and FOREVER! My Valentine is my stunning wife HAZEL!

2. If not, do you wish you did? Is there anyone particular? Or would you rather be single? Why?
Oh goodness, I won't ever reconsider. Hazel is THE one! And I never want to be single; I'm blissfully happy here with her and our little daughter Eve.

3. What's your favorite love song? Who sings it?
Hmmmm.... I don't have a favorite, but Hiroshima sings a wonderful song called Heavenly Angel. *smiles* that is what I think of my Hazel every time I hear the song. She is my Heavenly Angel!

4. What would be a perfect Valentines Day for you?
A day in the mansion with Hazel and our little daughter Eve. Hazel and I enjoying the day with a glass of wine or two, while we cook a romantic dinner. The fire is blazing, the waves are crashing on the shore, and Eve is playing happily with her toys and getting into the catnip. The sun is shining and the world is warm, peaceful, happy, content... I have my wife at my side, so what more could I ask for? Hazel is true perfection. My PERFECT Valentine and Valentine's Day!
