Arrival Story:
I moved away from my family to a new state and was very lonely. I decided to get a kitten and searched high and low for an orange female tabby. I answered a kitten ad in the paper and went to see Alex and his orange sister. Alex was twice as big as his sister and I had designs for the sister, but the family wanted to keep her. I picked up baby Alex and he positioned himself on my hip like a baby is carried. He purred and purred and when I put him down, he asked to get back up. I picked him up again and he came home.

Bio:
When he was 13 years old, Alex lovingly welcomed a beagle puppy named Molly into our family. Alex was always gentle with Molly, rubbing and bathing her everyday. One year later, he welcomed a second beagle puppy, Lillie, in the same gentle manner. He loved and bathed and played with Lillie just as he did Molly. He was the kindest big brother they could have ever hoped for. He now watches over Molly and Lillie and our new additions, Scout and Boston, from above. He is terribly missed.

A Dog Park Named After Me!

My mom and I lived in a small house with a very large backyard. I used to hang out in my backyard - most of it was overgrown forrest and it made for great hunting and chasing. After I died my mom discovered that my beagle puppies were running and playing in our backyard jungle. She worried that they would get hurt or be bitten by a snake or something equally as dreadful. So, my mom had our backyard cleared out and grass planted and created The Alex XXXXX Memorial Park - my park. It really is fitting to have a dog park named after a cat. I love that Molly and Lillie and our new kittens, Scout and Boston, have a place to romp and play without worry. I don't love that my mom invites all the neighbors' big dogs to my park every Friday night for happy hour. My mom shouldn't do that because I never liked big dogs in my yard and now she welcomes them in my honor and memory. There's just something not right about that. I would also like to point out that it took FOUR animals to almost fill the hole left in my momma's heart when I died. I left some really big paws to fill. I don't think the quartet now living in my house quite fills them. They do come close though.
