Arrival Story:
In early 1992 our neighbor broke up a howling animal fight and found Keyogi running from a pack of raccoons. Keyogi was bleeding so she took him to the vet the next morning and they anesthetized him to stitch him up. She went ahead and had him neutered at the same time and got his shots, they estimated that he was 6-8 yrs old. Previously Keyogi lived around these student apartments, begging for food. The neighbor kept him inside for next year and he gorged himself, nearly doubling his body weight. He sat under her futon couch watching people, but was relatively unfriendly. When the neighbor graduated, she asked if we could take him so that he could stay at the same building. During his second year after rescue he began to trust us and allow us to pet him. Eventually he became needy and super-loving, just as he over-ate to make up for his previous years.

Bio:
When we lived in the apartment bldg., Keyogi used to sit under a second floor window and keep company with an indoor-only kitty Jody (also on Catster). That was his only true love, he pined for her for years. Keyogi had a good life with us, and we loved him so much. Keyogi moved with us to a house where he had a yard, but he really just wanted to be with people and only went outside to lay in the sun. He suffered from fatty liver disease for a while in 2000 and we thought we were going to lose him, and at the last minute his health turned around and he lived several more years. His organs started failing, and he got very sick, very quick. He died in my arms at home. We think he was about 20 years old when he died in early 2004, we had known him since 1992. He was a good boy.
