Arrival Story:
I was looking for a companion for my first cat Muku who I rescued from a shelter I volunteered at. I'm a big fan of finding the cat that no one wants, wild, sick, anything and saving that kitty. Muku was a huge success story but he needed a friend. I walked into the shelter and looked for the kitty that no one would want and found Bella. She didn't come up to the front of her cage like the other cats, rather she just sat hunched in the back of it. She looked wild and the shelter workers said she was found on a farm as a stray and was probably feral. Her fur was matted and she was obviously scared. I took her home that same day. She has grown into one of the sweetest and most loving cats I have ever known and is incredibly charming. I think she was abused before I found her because she gets scared of certain people sometimes.

Bio:
Bella was picked up by animal control near a farm in Colo, Iowa. She has lived in Ames, IA; Des Moines, IA; San Jose, CA; Hollywood, CA; and Portland, OR. She is indoors only and survived a fall off of a two story building as well as eating an Ibuprofen pill. She is a wonderful example of a cat that nobody wanted who turned out to be a gem.

Separation Anxiety

Separation Anxiety

Bella is very attached to me. She cries when I'm not in the room with her and absolutely loves being around me. Her way of showing her separation anxiety is urinating on my bed. If she doesn't get the attention she wants, then she will make it very clear that she needs more! We are about to move to a new apartment without any other cats, so I think that having me all to herself will be good for her. She will also have a deck full of bird feeders so she can watch all the birds and squirrels, which she loves to do.
