Arrival Story:
Rex was born by one of our neighbor's outdoor cats. He was her favorite, but we got him :}
Bio:
Rex died December 25th, 2007. Six months prior to his departure, we noticed he was losing weight. We brought him to the vet and he stayed there overnight. They said there was nothing wrong with him, so he came home. About three months later, we noticed he had lost a LOT of weight, so we brought him back and they said that we should try soft food. We began him on soft food, which he ate. (It was just a "treat" prior to that.) The day before his death, he started to have bloody feces, and wasn't making it to the litter box, even though it was right near him. He started to puke a lot, too. We brought him to the vet with a fecal sample. They asked to keep him overnight for observation and testing, and we said yes. We got a call the following day (Christmas) saying that Rex had a ruptured colon. We decided to put him to sleep rather than have him live miserably. We drove to the vet's office and held him as they gave him the injection. He's in a better place now, and we did all we could. He's still alive in our thoughts.
