Hello fur-friends,

Every Christmas we send our holiday wishes to fur-friends, some we’ve been lucky enough to have known for a couple of years and some we just met.

All our fur-friends have touched our lives in different ways, but one thing that's fur sure is we feel life is much nicer than it was before we met.

So this year when Christmas approaches my fur-family and I realize that the best gift of all is knowing such wonderful fur-friends like mew.

Wishing you every happiness this holiday season and may you follow your dreams throughout the coming year.

Happy Holidays from all of us,

~ Osiris, Ariel & JoJo

My Seventh Annifursary at the Rainbow Bridge

Seven years ago I was very sick and although my human family was sad to say good-bye, I was glad to arrive at my new home at the Rainbow Bridge, would you like to know why?

Because, when I arrived the Rainbow Bridge gate was W-I-D-E open. I saw the most beautiful and spacious green meadow with vibrant colored flowers, tall grass swayed hello in the warm breeze. With each breath I took I felt peace and joy. What a lovely warm spring day it was, healing light shimmered all around me and I heard chirping little birds fluttering around the trees, all singing their welcome.

The Rainbow Bridge is a wonderful place where all of nature is cared for and everything is blissful…

Happy Earth Day!

Earth day started long befur I was efur born and thankfully so many furs are now looking at ways to protect the beautiful planet earth.

Mew know, here at the Rainbow Bridge we have a furtastic view of the planet. Much of the planet’s resource is water and only 30% is renewable which is less than 1% of the total water on the planet.

My guardian works with a group of dedicated humans that are creating an awareness for the Fraser River basin. This river is located in British Columbia, Canada and is enormous, 1400 km in length to be exact; which is comparable to the size of California!... huge.

The health of the river plays a major role in the future of the ecosystem and is one of world's most productive salmon river systems… and because of global warming the water in the river is warmer than it use to be and is now partly due to the decline in salmon.

So today I am recognizing all of those humans and organizations who have taken on numerous sustainability issues, and are getting people together to find realistic solutions to long-standing issues.

Happy Earth Day to all and keep up the great work in making a difference no matter what it is!

I Believe part II

Thank mew to my angel fur-friend Flora fur her comment on my previous thoughts on "I Believe!"

This particular Winter Olypmics has been way more than winning medals, it has brought our nation together in unity.

In fact, BC has the largest multicultural population and the Olympics has made a huge impact. We continue to learn from the athletes from their courage, loss and gain. All of which has made this event priceless and can not be compared to the amount of money spent. I think alot of humans realize that now.

I also believe that our relationship with the USA has strengthened, to do otherwise, we would all miss out on something special.

I can only wish that my fur-friends can experience something like this in their lifetime and I will continue to believe fur a furry long time.

Wow!

I am so furry proud to have been born a Canadian Kitty. I joined the Opening Ceremonies in spirit last night and it was…….. heavenly!

There were so many beautiful moments inside my hometown stadium of Vancouver, with the soft lights glowing and smooth voice of KD Lang echoing Hallelujah... an appropriate song in light of an athlete’s death earlier today. I also joined my angel furs with the moment of silence to respect the loss of this young athlete.

Everything that was done throughout the ceremony really showed what it is to be Canadian, from the poetry slam, the fiddle music, ballet dancers with the old forest (our friend’s son was performing in this piece), the sultry sound of Donald Sutherland’s voice, reciting prose and poetry and verses from “Who Has Seen The Wind,” a moving novel about growing up in the prairies by W.O. Mitchel. The performances, speeches to the lighting of the torch.

The energy of First Nations was amazing and the ice styled West Coast totem poles along with the giant drum was spectacular! What truly was amazing was the glowing giganitic Spirit Bear.... ah! What a moment.

I believe the 2010 Winter Olympics is magical and truly represents unity especially for our youth throughout the world.

So yes… “I Believe!”

Baby Orca’s – a Spectacular Sight!

The best thing about being an angel is the opportunities I get to share with my Guardian and just yesterday I joined her while she made the 1.5 hour crossing from the mainland to Vancouver Island and the return sailing in the evening.

Together we watched the early morning sun, a brilliant shade of crimson. We watched enchanted as the morning light shimmered and danced across the water.

Later on in the evening, while the sun set, we made our way back across to the mainland. The sailing was spectacular as we watched the sky turn a luminous pale shade of pink that mixed with the dark cobalt blue sky.

As we drew closer to the mainland and the majority of humans had gone back to their vehicles, out of the blue we witnessed a dramatic splash in the water... and moments later we saw a marine mammal's sleek dark back emerge and within seconds a baby orca whale slapped her tail on the surface of the water, as if to say, “Hello!!!”

What happened next was the most amazing site... four other baby orca’s surfaced and while they swam, the "big sister" decided to show off a bit and did the most spectacular breach!

We watched from a respectful distance as the orca pod played, swam, jumped, and displayed their sleek dorsal fins... The pod must have been "Transient" and traveling with their mothers... probably two, as there were five to six babies, it was hard to keep track!

My Guardian and I both have such a respect for these beautiful marine mammals and it’s a moment we will remember furever! Last night the coastal waters of BC lived up to it's name - "SuperNatural!"

Mountain Home

I’d like to share a poem written sometime in the 7th to 9th centuries by one of the reclusive poets of China, one who called himself Han Shan, or "Cold Mountain", a poet honoured in both Zen Buddhist and Tao traditions.

Mountain Home: The Wilderness Poetry of Ancient China.

I’ve lived out tens of thousands of years on Cold Mountain.
Given to the seasons,
I vanished among forests and cascades,
gazed into things so utterly themselves.

No one ventures up into all these cliffs
hidden forever in white mist and cloud.
It’s just me, thin grass my sleeping mat
and azure heaven my comforting quilt:
happily pillowed on stone, I’m given to
heaven and earth changing on and on.

Over the past few months I have been traveling around the globe and enjoying the “Where Am I? Game" at the Black Cat Irish Pub. Flora Cat recently guessed the location I was visiting in Agra, India … the Taj Mahal. I love exploring different cultures and because I have angel wings it makes it so much easier for me to travel. I really respect different beliefs and traditions and while I was in India I had the opportunity to gain more understanding of Ganesh. She is the Hindu God of Prosperity and wisdom, who assists with writing and art projects.

The story of Ganesh, the elephant-headed deity, is interesting because she is thought to be extremely loving, sweet, polite and gentle yet also very strong and is called “the Remover of Obstacles” because she is like a tamed elephant walking ahead of you on a trail, stepping on brush so your path is clear.

I appreciate what Ganesh represents as she reminds me that we all have our own strength and beauty, as we find ways to travel down our paths and a reminder that God and love always prevails.
