Arrival Story:
I foster animals for the animal shelter and I got a call about a litter of 4 bottle babies that needed a foster. I went to the shelter and once I saw them I couldn't say no. Panda's siblings all got adopted, but Panda was still too small to be spayed. She stayed at 10 ounces for almost two months!! She just didn't want to grow, but she was so cute. Then she came down with an eye infection and almost lost her right eye (it ruptured but then healed). She is now blind in that eye and has a big scar on her retina. By the time she was spayed and her eye had healed, she wasn't a tiny kitten anymore. She is so attached to my calico, Kelsey, that she flips out if she is away from her. I decided to keep Panda because she was getting to be an adult cat and I'd had her since she was 2 weeks old. She considers this her home and her family, even when I'd considered her a foster. Plus, she has a nervous breakdown if she is away from Kelsey. I've decided that she isn't really a third cat, just an extension of Kelsey. They are just one big cat with two heads. Panda isn't the most affectionate cat, but she definitely has a personality of her own and is a part of the family now.

Panda is very bossy with the other animals. She has to be in charge and she lets everyone know that. She HATES new foster animals, dog or cats (even though she was raised with animals coming and going all the time), and takes her anger out on everyone. She eventually will get over it and start to play with a new foster after a couple weeks, but then gets mad again when they get adopted and leave. Panda considers Kelsey the calico to be her true mommy. Kelsey always takes care of my foster kittens (even though she was spayed at 4 months of age and has never had and never will have kittens of her own), so Panda grew up being licked and cuddled by Kelsey. Kelsey is the only thing that Panda loves with all her heart. She always sleeps on top of Kelsey and suckles on her fur. Luckily, Kels is very patient with other animals and doesn't mind!! Panda is my little terror. She is the one who is always on the counters, getting into stuff, running around acting crazy, chasing her tail, playing, playing, playing, playing...She absolutely LOVES the gecko and is always there to help when its time to feed the gecko. She sits on the screen and watches the gecko eat. Panda loves to wrappers, anything plastic that she can carry in her mouth and play with. She only wants me to pet her at night after I turn off the lights, maybe so I won't know it is her that I am petting? Panda wants everyone to think she is tough, but there is a sensitive kitty underneath. She is a silly, stubborn, unique cat, but we all love her anyway.
