Nicknames:
Big Guy

Birthday:
January 1st 1993

Arrival Story:
Socks was our daughter's kitty. When they were both little, she would wear him around her neck. When she would return home on visits from college, they always shared special time together.

Bio:
Socks was a Fierce Master of all he surveyed! He was a big old softie inside but he feared nothing. Socks died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 15 on 3/28/08, after never having a single illness. He will be sorely missed. His best story with his best friend Tigger: His best buddy was Tigger, although he was years older than Tigger. They loved to cruise around the yard and defend the property. One time we heard a thundering herd running across the roof. We looked out the back window quickly enough to see 2 teenaged raccoons jump off the roof, into the pool, swim across, then climb out and over the fence. We ran outside to look everywhere for the cats, worried that something had happened to them. But there were Tigger and Socks on the front steps...looking a little disheveled but with a snicker on each of their faces, meowing at us and very hyper. Best we could tell, they scared those rascals away. There was no sign or smell that either had actually wrestled with the raccoons. Together they were invincible.

Dear Socks,

It's two years since you've crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We still miss you so much. Every day you would greet us, survey your yard and keep it safe from intruders. You and Tigger were the best of friends and I know you're still roaming together. Together you two were formidable. Remember the time you chased the two young raccoons away? You were also so loving. Lauren always made time for you when she would come home from college, and you couldn't be happier. We love you very much and pray that you're happy and safe. You are in our hearts and always will be, Big Guy.

Socks my big handsome man. I miss seeing your greetings every day. I miss you guarding our house and our other pets. I miss you big fur ball, so beautiful and regal. You are in my heart forever.

A Time to Remember
By John Quealy

They come into our lives for such a short time
A time we wouldn't trade not even for a dime
Then before you know it the years have flown by
And then all of the sudden we're saying good-bye

It wasn't that long ago we said our good-byes
We held on to you tight as you closed your eyes
Your spirit has flown home on the wings of a dove
Into God's loving arm's; in heaven above

Over the days we've shed many tears
But the memories we have will live on for years
We feel your presence and we know that your near
You're keeping us safe and calming our fear

We think about memories from years past
When you were young and strong and ran so fast
We remember all the great times that we all had
How you always made us happy never made us mad

They were the best and happiest years we had
We'll always look back on them and never be sad
We look forward to the time we'll be together again
And we thank the Lord for such a great friend

Now you run and play up in Heaven above
Cradled in God's arms covered with his love
Playing by the Bridge waiting for the day
We come down thru the meadow to the bridge to stay

The love that you showed us we'll never forget
Because to us you're one very special pet
You're like a star in the dark of night
Always watching over us with the Lord's light

So now we take time to remember our best friend
Who will always be with us even to the end
We'll always remember you the way you were
One big lovable huggable pile of fur

Dear Socks,

It's Rainbow Bridge Day and almost a year since you left us. How could we ever forget you! You've always been so loved by your mom & dad, yours human kids, your pups and especially your Tigger and Prissy. Thank you for always guarding our house from all the little critters, and even trying to keep the raccoons away. You were always fearless! We all appreciate your loyalty and loving ways. You always had time to receive a hug and to give a purr. We all hope that you are getting to relax and have some fun up at the bridge. You certainly deserve it sweet kitty. We all love you and miss you big beautiful boy. Big hugs to you. MWAH - and big kisses.

love you!
your family
