Ninja almost-grown kitten strikes again!!!

Mommy is out of town right now...and I have been keeping a close eye on Daddy while she is gone. He went in to give my sister Daisy some fresh water this morning and I wanted to help him, so I snuck into her room too. Daddy yelled at me because he didn't want me to go in...can't let me stay in there with her all day. I ran in the room, jumped up on the kitty climbing tree, and went to town scratching on the sisel rope.

Daddy went to scoop me up, and put me outside of the bedroom...well, I got scared and I flung out my nails (which I had just sharpened). I inflicted a nice slice across Daddy's wrist...he had a flap of skin hanging down from my handiwork. Of course he bled like a sieve AGAIN! Remember when I got his toes??? This time Daddy told Mommy that I had amputated his hand and that he was keeping the severed hand in the fridge. I think he must be kidding.

Tagged for things I don't like!

My friend Pancake tagged me! The game is to tell 6 things I don't like and then tag 6 more kitties. Here are the 6 things I don't like:

1. Someone watching me (that means you Mom and Dad) while I am "on the pot." If my "bathroom" had a door on it, I would close it and you wouldn't be able to see me go. But it doesn't have one, does it? *taps paws and crosses arms*

2. Being called "Ears McGee" by Mom and Dad. I KNOW I have big ears, but I am still growing. My ears can't help it. Shall I start calling you humans names of your unattractive body parts? Thought not.

3. Not getting first dibs on a new can of moist catfood. Why do the boys get theirs first? Isn't it supposed to be "ladies first?" Hmphf.

4. Speaking of the boys...not getting my older brothers to play with me. Yep - I am talking about you, Tigger, and you, Senna. How many times did I have to walk by you when I first came to our home before you noticed me, Tigger? Geez.

5. Being left out of sitting near Mommy when she is on the 'puter. Bean gets the back of her 'puter chair; Tigger walks across the keyboard repeatedly; and Senna sometimes sleeps on her lap or on the mousepad. Hey - wait a minute...mousepad...are their mousies under there? *huge ears perk up*

6. Didn't I already mention the ears thing?

It's these kitties turns:

Tigger's GF Tally
Senna's GF Shadow
My friend TC
My friend Pawlette
My friend Phineas
My friend Libby

Traumatized in the toilet!

I like to hang out with Dad when I am not hanging out with my brother Beanie. And I am a kitten...which gets me into trouble.

A couple of days ago, Dad sauntered into his bathroom and I followed. Apparently he needed to use his litter bowl (that's what I call his "toilet"). Dad is a boy (duh), so he doesn't squat down like the rest of us. I thought it was pretty neat that there was this stream of...water...going into the litter bowl. I needed to check it out. So, what did I do? Yep! Dove into the toilet while dad was still using it!!!

A frenzy of kitten and dad and pee ensued. Dad had to fish me out and give me a good bath.

Remind me not to do that again!

I think I finally have a name!

The folks have been toying with my new adopted name for 2 weeks now. In the meantime they have been calling me "Little Girl," "Little Lady," and "Ears McGee" (don't ask). So many kitties have suggested great names...too many to even list. Nope. Daddy is picky - those didn't strike his fancy.

However, apparently Grandpa's birthday is coming up and Daddy bought him a birthday card. In my new family the kitties always sign the birthday/Christmas/etc. cards too. Well, I can't very well sign a card if I don't have a name, could I? This made the name assignment a little more of a pressing matter.

Daddy had come up with Natasha. Mom thought that was a pretty name but wondered how in the world he came up with that one. Well, one of mom's favorite singers is Tori Amos...she has one daughter named...Natashya. Hmmm...well, then Mom said it sounds Russian, but she is part Havana Brown, which has nothing to do with Russia. How did that get rationalized out? Well, Natasha is Russian, Russia was a Communist country, Cuba is a Communist country, and Havana is in Cuba...so voila!

Mom thought Natasha sounded too...something. So she decided to tack the "Rose" part on. The reason behind this? 1) Rose is a flower, and so is my sister Daisy. 2) Rose is also a character on one of the folks' favorite tv shows (Dr. Who - on BBC America). Now, Mom doesn't know that I watch this show too, and know that Rose is trapped in a parallel world away from the man she loves! This is not encouraging....

Anyway, my new name is Natasha Rose. Nice to meet you.

Daily Diary Pick!

My brothers have been looking at me weird all day. Mommy says that it is because I am a Daily Diary Pick on Catster! I am not sure what that means, but I guess it is pretty cool. Mom says that my brothers are "green with envy." Why would they want to be green? Brown is a much nicer color, like me. Mom said not to say anything about being a Diary pick to Daisy, that she would get upset. Well, considering she lives in the bedroom behind a closed door, and I live in the rest of the house...and neither one of us know Morse (Morris - this sounds a better choice for Catster) code...I don't think she'll be finding out.

Ninja Kitten Evokes Fear Throughout Southern New Mexico!

*News flash*

Be aware! Ninja kitten has struck Southern New Mexico toes, leaving a trail of bloodshed and tears in her wake.

*Camera turns to Daria/new name*

I couldn't help myself. The toe lust came over me. I saw Daddy's toes and I felt the need to capture them immediately! I swiped my paw through the quilt and captured his index toe with my claw, fileting the back of the toe wide open. Much screaming ensued. Our neighbors live 10-20 acres away, and the neighbors' lights kicked on with Daddy's blood curdeling screams...I am pretty sure of that!

Daddy drug his semi-severed toe/foot all the way down the hall to the bathroom, calling for Mommy. Mommy's response was, "Oh for Pete's sake - it can't be THAT bad." That was until she saw the red river flowing down the hallway...Ok, maybe I am exaggerating a little bit about the amount of blood, but I did manage to exsanguinate a pretty good amount. Mommy got Daddy all cleaned up and bandaged and sent back to bed.

I can't wait til he goes to sleep again tonight!

4 DAYS UNTIL FIRST SNUGGLE-FEST

Yep - it took a mere 4 days until I had my first snuggle-fest. I was happily nappin' on the IKEA chair when up jumped my brother Senna. He wanted to nap on the chair too. So he settled in for the afternoon nap...and I stretched out...on top of him. Daddy got a great picture of the 2 of us. I am gonna put it on my page. We are pretty cute, brown on black.

The V-E-T and ballroom dancing lessons

Daddy told me that I have my very first V-E-T trip tomorrow to see Dr. Nancy. I have no idea what this means. I got sympathetic looks from the other kitties, consolatory pats on the head....

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN???

*very worried*

In the meantime, I have won over one opposition in the new household. Remember my brother Bean? Yep. He's mine now. He has quit growling at me and we have been having a ball playing. Both of us have hid on different sides of Mommy's coat hanging on the dining room chair. I bat at Bean through the coat and he bats at me. It's pretty fun. We even got to wrestle! Dad said it looked like we were dancing...yeah, we'll work on that next week.

Ballroom dancing lessons, anyone?

Meeting the fur family

Hi everycat! I am back again!

I finally got to meet my fur family yesterday. I have a sister, Daisy, and 3 brothers, Bean, Tigger, and Senna. Mommy told me that Bean and Daisy are more my age, so we might become good friends. Yeah...not so much. Bean keeps hissing at me, I think he is afraid of me! Geez! He is 7 times bigger than me! Daisy started licking my head when we met, which Mom thought was a good sign, but I had enough and hissed at her (Daisy, not Mom.). It was downhill after that.

On the other hand, Mommy said I might not get along with my older brothers, since they are well...older. Nope. Fooled Mommy again. They are terrific! Senna has been giving me an introduction to the household, has been escorting me around to make sure that I am OK, and playing with me. Tigger has been telling me the house rules and letting me snuggle. I had to walk by Tigger like 15 times before he even bothered to notice me! Geez, talk about giving a girl a complex!

In the meantime, I have been having a great time checking out the house. I remembered where the big girl/boy litter box was located and even gave dad a mean look when he walked in without knocking. Was he born in a barn?

I am hoping I can win the family over with my smashing good looks, playful demeanor, and charming social graces. Or, eventually they will just give up and let me in....

I LOVE MY NEW FAMILY!!!

My first forever home

I made it! I am in my forever home in New Mexico! My new mom and dad drove from New Mexico to Arizona to pick me up at my foster mommy's house yesterday (3/30/08). I was nervous to meet them, but once I saw them it was OK. They were very kind to me and I started to love them right away. I snuggled right into my new Mommy who held me real close to her. Daddy got to do the driving back and Mommy got to do the snuggling. Seems like it worked out best for Mommy! MOL!!!

We drove about 2 hours and we stopped in Tucson for the night. Mom and Dad said it was too long of a drive to make it all the way back. I was a perfect little lady (that's what Daddy called me) the whole car ride. I didn't whine or fidget. I sat still and snuggled. Once in awhile I looked out the window, but it was just orange construction barrels, so that got old pretty fast.

Mommy and Daddy set me up a litter box in the hotel room where I was smuggled in ( Shhhh - don't tell!). Mommy showed me how to use the litter box, just in case I needed a reminder, but I knew how all on my own. I had some hard food and some water too, but I was more interested in my new parents then all of that. When it was time for bed, I snuggled into the crook of Daddy's elbow and went to sleep.

This morning was the rest of the trip. Mom and I did some SERIOUS snuggling on the way home. I slept on her head, her neck, her chest, her lap...you name it, I had it covered. Dad managed to snap some photos with his camera phone, so hopefully those will show up here eventually.

Whew. I better get going. I will write more about my new furfamily tomorrow.

Love Daria/whatever my new name will be
