ATHENA'S DIARY

It has been one month since I made my journey to the Bridge. Mom still cries a lot because she's still in the habit of glancing at the chair under the table or the couch in the den to check on me. The other night she looked up the stairs to see if Apollo was coming outside with her and in the shadows at the top of the stairs she thought it was my face she saw on Apollo. Of course we do look alike except he is much bigger than me — the big lump!
Goodbyes are always so hard. Sending lots of comforting purrs your way. We truly believe that each of us that loves has been truly blessed for having had that gift. It may be hard to imagine now, but there will come a day when you will be able to smile when you look back at the time you shared. Purrs... It will feel that way for awhile. The best thing that can get your momma through this is all her friends here on Catster. It really does help a lot! To Athena's momma, please know that Athena is only gone in the flesh, but she's still there with you. Her energy is there around you and she's a piece of your soul. Little sweet angel. You will be remembered around the world for years to come, never to be forgotten. Your precious face will remain in many hearts. I also can't believe a month has passed. I think that's why your mommy saw your face on his body at the top of the stairs. I do know how much your mommy misses being able to hold your warm body and stroke your soft fur...in my mommy's case, she especially misses being able to kiss my ears and feel my purr in her ear. But I am not gone. And I believe you are not either. I hope this post gives no offense. purrrrrrrrrrrrrrs This is to Athena's Mom, Athena is happy here. She has no pain and she's young again. She misses you very much and checks on you regularly. She had a wonderful life with you and it was time to go on. Look for the angel dust she sprinkles on you regularly. Remember - you will see each other again. Mewow we almost journeyed at the same time. I had to leave my mom and family for the brdige on the 12th of October. My sister moe and I look a lot a like except she is much smaller than me (mom hasn't got her page done yet) and sometimes she thinks it's me rather than moe. It's over two months since I left and sometime mom still wants to say "I love you Alley" (she said that evem more after I got so sick)everytime she passes by my favorite spots. Athena misses you like I miss my mom but we wait here without sickness or pain and one day we will all be together again. Dear Athena, Thank you for welcoming me to the Rainbow Bridge. I am both happy and sad to be here as I'm sure you are too. I am glad to have the pain gone and be young and full again but I miss my mommy ( not so much Teddy;) and for sure not the dogs!). I look forward to laying in the sun with you and everyone else here while we wait for our special people. I hope your mommy knows that you miss her but are in a happy place as mine does. I hope the food is good and lets play! |
