Arrival Story:
My niece works at a veterinary hospital in Irondequoit, NY. A co-worker found a cat in her neighborhood that she believed was abandoned by people who had just moved out a short time ago. The co-worker brought her to the animal hospital, but they do not have adoption capabilities, so there was no place for this little kitty to go! Knowing that I have my own dog and cat, whom I love so dearly, my niece knew she could easily find someone who would fall in love immediately. I went to the hospital and took this little girl - who is so sweet - figuring that I would be able to find her a home among my many friends. She was good as gold on the 4 1/2 hour trip home. I hardly even knew she was there! Once home, my own cat was not enamored with her presence. I called a few friends, and my first few contacts all loved her. But, unfortunately, they couldn't take her in. As things would go, I became attached in a very few days, and now can't bear the thought of giving her away. I still have several friends that I can call, but I think the story ends here. Chelsea, as I've named her, is now a part of my family. My own cat will just need to get over it!
