Arrival Story: Some guy from my sister's high school asked around the school if anybody wanted free kittens. He also said if nobody wanted them he was going to dump them outside in the alley. Nobody wanted them. It was freezing at the time and they were barely 4 weeks old so my sister said she would take them home with her. They came home that night at 11 pm.m on March 24, 2008. They were completely unexpected and we didn't even ask our mom if we could bring them home. We kept them in a room were she was not able to hear them and then we finally told her a week later lol. She told us we could only keep them for 2 weeks and then we would have to take them to a shelter because she didn't want any more cats in the house. But when the time came she said it was ok to keep them. But after I realized they had worms, it was clear that we couldn't afford to take all of them to the vet. It was a very hard decision to make but we took Zuko to an animal shelter because we were not able to properly care for all of them at the time. We called a week later to see what happened to him and the little brown tabby Zuko was adopted!!!
Bio: When Felix and Hudson arrived home they had fleas and worms!!!! I got rid of the fleas by taking them a bath every 2 days with Dawn dishwashing soap. And I took them to the vet to get rid of the worms. We gave them KMR milk until they were 8 weeks. And they used shredded paper instead of litter until they were 8 weeks also to make sure they didn't ingest any clay. We kept them in there own separate room for a whole month. We took them out everyday and put them in a kids play pen to protect them from Jack. It took about 6 weeks for Jack to fully accept the kittens. His mom is an orange tabby Domestic Shorthair and his dad is unknown. He likes to hang out on our fridge and kitchen cabinets and likes to attack/play with peoples heads as they pass by!!! lol He's super playful and a complete nut!!!
'Under Bed Beast' is what my niece calls Felix because he loves sleeping under the bed, playing under the bed and because he attacks your feet if you put them on the floor while he's under the bed lol.
So it's been over a month since the kittens arrived and Jack is getting along with the kittens!!! Jack hissed at the kittens when they first arrived and now he's running with them, sniffing them and letting them play with his tail!! He sill occasionally swats at them and hisses a little too. I still supervise them and I still put them in their carriers before I go to sleep.
