Arrival Story:
I adopted Purrcy and his sister Whispurr from a co-worker when they were about 10 weeks old. Purrcy came home first and we bonded right away- we are soul mates! The first night he was with me, he found his way up the stairs to my bed. He sucked on my right ear to console himself; and has done so ever since when he is feeling "needy". (which happens often)
Purrcy is a "people" cat - he's never met anyone he doesn't want to make friends with - he's just a big, fluffy bundle of love.
Purrcy used to be an indoor/outdoor kind of guy. About 2 years ago he had what my vet has called a "neurological event". Purrcy suddenly began to drag his right back leg. An x-ray showed a "slight " pelvec fracture, but then he lost cotrol of his right front leg. My vet said it wasn't a stroke - but he couldn't define what was happening. It was a very scarey time for me! Purrcy gradually improved, but he still has some loss of sensation on his right side. That's why he can't go outside any more.
At one time Purrcy was a terrific hunter; he caught mice, moles, birds, snakes, and squirrels. One time a few years ago he caught and ate a poisoned squirrel - he spent a few days in Kitty ICU, and I gained a few gray hairs! I'm happy that he's an inside cat now, but he's not. Even though he has a sunroom and an outside kennel with perches and scratching posts, Purrcy would still like to go out - he doesn't understand his limitations, so I have to be his protector, even though it makes us both sad.
Purrcy is now a full fledged Campurr!! We had a great time.
Bio:
Whispurr died from an accident before her first birthday. I still miss her. Her ashes will be combined with mine and Purrcy's when I die.
Purrcy has three cat "siblings" :
Jeepurrs Creepurrs,
Grizzly,
and
Caspurr Snowberry.
You'll meet them later on.
Can you tell that I incorporate a "purr" in most of my cat's names?
I hope that by doing so, they live up to the "Purr" and a become a happy, and loving part of my cat family.

In case you haven't heard, my silly Mumma is going to get two (2) new boy cats in August. MOL! She has waited a long time and had been looking fur just the right kitten to fill my mighty paws - but now she has decided that one kitten can't purrform that task - yes she is getting 2 (two) kittens and I will be watching the antics (and guiding them) because I KNOW what drives Mumma crazy!!
I will be eating tuna-puffs and laffing!

Purrcy's mumma here.
I want to thank all of you for the lovely gifts and messages celebrating what would have been Purrcy's 15th birthday.
Unfortunately, my mother passed away Thursday night just after 9pm.
She was in her own home, just as she wished. My brother and I were with her. We held her and talked to her as she was passing. It was a peaceful and gentle death.
We bathed her and fixed her hair and thanked her for the wonderful life she gave us. She spent one last night in her home. And Timmy, her sweet little cat spent one last night with her, curled up on the bed by her side.
My mom imparted her love of animals, particularly, her love of cats to us. I count it as one of the greatest gifts she could have given us.
I will miss her greatly. She was 90 years old and had a grand life. May she rest in peace.
