Arrival Story:
I adopted Purrcy and his sister Whispurr from a co-worker when they were about 10 weeks old. Purrcy came home first and we bonded right away- we are soul mates! The first night he was with me, he found his way up the stairs to my bed. He sucked on my right ear to console himself; and has done so ever since when he is feeling "needy". (which happens often)
Purrcy is a "people" cat - he's never met anyone he doesn't want to make friends with - he's just a big, fluffy bundle of love.
Purrcy used to be an indoor/outdoor kind of guy. About 2 years ago he had what my vet has called a "neurological event". Purrcy suddenly began to drag his right back leg. An x-ray showed a "slight " pelvec fracture, but then he lost cotrol of his right front leg. My vet said it wasn't a stroke - but he couldn't define what was happening. It was a very scarey time for me! Purrcy gradually improved, but he still has some loss of sensation on his right side. That's why he can't go outside any more.
At one time Purrcy was a terrific hunter; he caught mice, moles, birds, snakes, and squirrels. One time a few years ago he caught and ate a poisoned squirrel - he spent a few days in Kitty ICU, and I gained a few gray hairs! I'm happy that he's an inside cat now, but he's not. Even though he has a sunroom and an outside kennel with perches and scratching posts, Purrcy would still like to go out - he doesn't understand his limitations, so I have to be his protector, even though it makes us both sad.
Bio:
Whispurr died from an accident before her first birthday. I still miss her. Her ashes will be combined with mine and Purrcy's when I die.
Purrcy has three cat "siblings" :
Jeepurrs Creepurrs,
Grizzly,
and
Caspurr Snowberry.
You'll meet them later on.
Can you tell that I incorporate a "purr" in most of my cat's names?
I hope that by doing so, they live up to the "Purr" and a become a happy, and loving part of my cat family.

When mumma came home from work, she checked all of her usual places on the catputer.
She was so surprised to find out that I am one of today's DDP's!
She said that makes me almost furmous! *blush*

Mumma just gave me food through the toobe, it went ok, so she is comfortable fur the night...tomorrow is another day.

Sometime during the night I made half of my toobie thing disappear! I was sure I was going to get rid of it furever! That made me furry happy!
But wait! I furgot about my mumma...sigh.....mumble mumble mumble.....
She put me in the Dreaded Box again and carted me off to the V-E-T.
Dr. Phil (not the bald guy on TV) was not in today, so we saw Dr. Ted. He looked like a mouse caught in a corner when mumma pulled out the broken-off part of the tube.
"Eeeek", he said in a mousie little voice, "where is the rest of the toobe?"
(Mumma looked a little pale this morning too, when she discovered that my toobe had broken...she kind of peeked with one eye to see if it was still sutured in place or if it had disappeared down my gullet...and that would not have been a furry good thing to have happened! But she said it was still sutured and that it could wait until she got home from work.)
Dr. Ted gave me a shot in my neck that made me feel nuthin' and put another toobe in!
Drat it, I was thinking I was gonna get away with it and not have no danged toobie thing out of my neck any more!
