Too many kittens! Here's a good place to hide for some beauty rest. A queen must maintain her appearance, after all.

Quick Bio:

Coloration:
Chocolate-Tortie Point

Likes:
Having her head and neck stroked; getting one-on-one attention from one of her people.

Pet-Peeves:
Touching her belly or her back near her tail; having to share her Mom and Dad with other cats. In her mind, Sheba's an only 'child'.

Favorite Toy:
Sheba's not really a 'toy' kind of girl. She prefers just being around her people or taking a cat nap. Now that Sheba's been with us longer, she does enjoy toys! She loves a feather stick, and chasing her mousie's one of her favorite activities.

Favorite Nap Spot:
Under the bed; in a box; under a desk - anywhere hidden and warm

Favorite Food:
She'll eat almost anything but loves canned food! Any flavor will do just fine.

Skills:
Sheba loves to play 'Get That Cat'! It's a variation of the games of chase, tag, and hide-and-go-seek. She arches her back with her tail stuck straight up, meows at me, then dashes off to hide. It's my job to find her & then it's time for another round.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
We adopted Sheba as a rescue cat. She had been at a shelter after being picked up as a stray. Imagine such a beautiful kitty being unwanted! I intended to adopt only one cat - Shamrock - but after visiting with Sheba in the cage at Petsmart, she won my heart. Thanks to Fancy Feline Rescue of the South for saving both these delighful kitties and letting me adopt them into our family. Her original name was Shina, but we could tell right away that she's the Queen, so we decided Sheba was a better fit.

Bio:
Sheba is a gorgeous, blue-eyed Siamese mix, with Tortie and chocolate points. She loves to be petted on her head, but she doesn't care to have her back or tail stroked. She'll hiss and bat your hand away, letting you know on no uncertain terms that those spots are off limits. Sheba has a lovely, loud purr. She's not a sociable cat, preferring the company of her human-mama to that of the other cats. Sheba can usually be found curled up under a bed or hiding in a dark, warm, safe spot if other cats are nearby. When we're one-on-one with her, she's a friendly and loving cat. We're hoping she becomes more cat-friendly over time, but if not, we'll give her the individual loving she craves.

I Gets Lost...AND FOUND!!!!!!!!!!

What a night! About 8:15, that's what Purrdaddy sez 'cause I can't tell time, I saw Purrdaddy go out our back door. He left that door open...just a little bit...and I decided I wanted AN ADVENTURE!!!!! So...I darted out the door and down the steps off the back deck. A moment later, I wuz in the WOODS!!!!

Do you know 'bout WOODS?? They are filled with lots and lots and lots of trees!! Our woods has a nice creek in the back. For a while, I just wandered around, sniffing the trees, sipping from the creek. It was nice -HOT - but still a nice place.

THEN...somethin' scared me!!! I's not sure what it wuz but I heard a dreadful noise!! Purrdaddy and Meowmy has said there's COYOTES around our woods.

Could it be a COYOTE??? (I isn't sure what they are but they doesn't sound nice, do they???)

I's scared of coyotes, so I decided to hide!! I hide so good, Purrdaddy and Meowmy couldn't find me! I heard them calling and calling and calling...

It got dark and still they wuz calling me...

But what if those coyotes wuz still out there???

The lightening bugs wuz flashing and the crickets wuz chirping and the tree frogs wuz singing. I heard an owl! Meowmy and Purrdaddy still called me...

I felt my angel sisfur, Darcy, and angel brofur, Dylan, with me. They whispered that it wuz safe. They would fly with me all the way through the dark, scary woods to our house, all lighted up in the night, like a beacon calling me home.

I wuz still afraid, but I trusted Dylan and Darcy, so I darted out of my hiding place. I tore through the woods as fast as I could run!! My little cat feet barely touched the forest floor!

Then I wuz on the path!! There wuz Purrdaddy, still calling me! I zipped past him and heard him shout, "Sheba!!!", but I didn't dare stop. There wuz the basement and the cat door that I knew led inside, even though Meowmy and Purrdaddy doesn't let me use it. I flew through it, into the basement, and upstairs!!!!

Meowmy and Purrdaddy wuz SO happy to see me!!! They fed me some delicious canned cat food, gave me cat milk, and even my favorite treats!! Of course, I got lots of loving cuddles, too.

I's SO glad to be home!!!!!

To all our furriends on Catster who purred and purrayed for me and for Meowmy & Purrdaddy...THANK YOU!

Miracles do happen...I's living, purring proof!!

I'm a Daily Diary Pick!!!! What's That Mean???

I got 'citing news today from Meowmy. I's a Daily Diary Pick!!!! Yippeeee!!!!! Hooray!!!!! Yay!!!!!!

I had to ask Meowmy what that means. (I focuses my attention on catnip toys, cat treats, and finding the next best place for naptime. I dictates my diary entries to Meowmy but I didn't know there wuz anybody readin' them!!!) She explained that it means that Catster HQ picked MY diary for other cats to read. Wow! I's so 'cited!

I's really 'cited 'cause my last entry wuz all 'bout the contest that our favorite rescue group, the Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary of North Carolina, is tryin' to win. If enuf folks vote fur them, they win $10,000.00!!! Meowmy sez that's a LOT of money. I know money's a good thing, 'specially fur rescues 'cause money buys cat food, litter, medicines and other good-fur-cats things.

THANKS, Catster HQ, fur pickin' my diary and giving the blind cats some extra exposure. We're up to 97 votes the last time Meowmy & I checked!!!! YAY!!!!!!

So please, please, please, give the blind cats a really great Christmas gift. Go vote fur them! It's really SO easy!!!! It's free and you can vote anonymously.

Our Meowmy loves the Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary of North Carolina. They help kitties who are blind find loving homes and give them a safe, caring place to live. Our new sisfur, Scarlett, is blind and we're glad she's safe with us! Meowmy sponsors two of the blind cats at the rescue - Natasha and Mike. Lots of other Catster members are now sponsors, too.

We just got word that the blind cats are SO excited!! The rescue has the chance to win $10,000.!!!! I don't know much about money, but the humans seem to think this is a LOT.

The best part is...our Catster furriends can help! And it's so easy!

All you have to do is visit the link below. Fill in a few fields of information, and viola! You've voted for Blind Cat Rescue and Sanctuary of North Carolina! You can even vote anonymously, if you prefer. (Whatever anonymously means...)

So please vote for Blind Cat Rescue today. Tell your furriends and ask them to vote. The rescue wants to build a new cattery so can more blind cats can be saved. Wouldn't that be a wonderful way to start the New Year?

(Meowmy doesn't know how to do a link in my diary. Poor dumb Meowmy!)

Thanks and a zillion purrs!
