Many years ago, I was the local Ferret Rescue. Impounded ferrets were always kept in the cat room, and it always broke my heart to see all the cats there. =^..^= After I lost Mong, I was always on the lookout for another siamese. One day, a the cat room contained a litter of just-impounded siamese kittens, all sable points save one. He looked so much like Mong, I remember saying something, jokingly, to the effect of, "If you guys don't let me adopt this cat, I'm never coming here for a ferret again!" That night I took Nick home. He was about seven or eight weeks old.
Bio:
Dear Nick, he was completely at home as soon as we brought him into the house. He quickly took to Rosalyn, my Great Pyrenees (rescued a year previously) as a surrogate mother, and was hardly ever away from her. =^..^= Nick grew into a huge, handsome cat, but as he aged we noticed that he seemed to tire easily. A trip to the vet revealed he had a hole between two chambers of his heart. The vet didn't think surgery to close it was possible. Nick died suddenly in his sleep of this time-bomb he carried inside him, but his short life of only about five years was a merry one. Nick welcomed dogs, other cats, hearly one hundred ferrets, and some new horses, all with equal aplomb.
