Arrival Story:
My husband, but then boyfriend, finally agreed that we could get a cat, actually 2, so we went to the shelter. When we got there my husband and I were looking through the window at all the cats in their cages and there was a volunteer holding Lena. The woman said that she was a foster mom for Lena and this was her first day back at the shelter. Actually, she had been calling her Spice, but we changed it. The woman said that Lena had been really sick, but was feeling much better now and that she was a super cuddly kitty and got along great with other cats and people. She gave Lena to me to hold and she just curled right up against my neck and started purring and I knew right away that she was the one. We were living at an apartment at the time and the shelter wasn't able to verify with them that we were allowed to have pets, so they had to put her "on hold" while we went back to our apartment to get the manager to call the shelter. We went straight to our apartment, tracked the manager, had her call and went right back to take her home. And the rest is history.

When she cuddles with you, she forgets to swallow. So, you get drooled on--A LOT. And, she usually like to cuddle and knead in your hair, which means you get drool in your hair. She is also the most patient cat I have ever seen with our 18 month old. When we first brought our daughter home, Lena was always right there, sitting next to me with the baby. If the skinpup would cry, she would be right there to let me know that something was up.
