Arrival Story:
My dear Angel crosssed the Rainbow Bridge on 7/2/93 after a stroke during oral treatment. I visited the Humane Society the next day, because I couldn't imagine not having a cat in my life. This gorgeous orange tabby was sleeping in his cage, & when I said, "You are just beutiful", awoke, chirruped & yawned. That was all it took to steal my heart. I was forced to wait 2 days because of the holiday --it was FOREVER!! This cat talked all the way to the vets office for the usual going-home exam & to set a spay appointment. The vet took one look, lifted his tail, & said "this cat doesn't need to be spayed, HE has been neutereed!!"Obviously I know the difference, but apparently it just didn't register--his adoption papers all had him listed as a female, & the staff refered to him as "she". It was good because that was already done, but I think he held it against me for a while. The first night at home, he was exploring & getting to know my mom, who lived with us--basically establishing his position as king of all he surveyed. I was busy doing something when I heard for the first time his distintinctive yowl which means "look, mom!!" He had walked up the side of a door frame, & was walking across the top of the frame UPSIDE DOWN!! He was so proud of himself!! I knew this cat would keep me entertained forever--& he hasn't let me down. cuddlecat
