After my Sophie crossed Rainbow Bridge, I wasn't sure if I wanted another kitty, but one day I just started looking on Petfinder and found this little fluff of kitty and fell in love. I promptly contacted her foster mom. Her foster mom said that she had several applicants, but she'd meet me anyway. She warned me that she was "shy" and to give her some time to warm up.
Apparently, as I found out later, little Celeste (originally 'Gina') didn't like ANYONE who came to meet her.
Except when she met me.
Within seconds of meeting me, this little kitten pranced out of the carrier and climbed up my folded legs and stretched herself for my shoulder - I picked her up and she curled herself on my shoulder, while I supported her with my hand.
Her foster mom started crying and told me that apparently, she'd made her choice. She was telling me that she hid and hissed at even the nicest people and because of that her foster was afraid that she would never get adopted. Now she understood why she was acting that way - she was waiting for me!
To this day, she still insists on sleeping as close to my neck as she can, but since she's so big, she settles on sleeping like a baby supported in my shirt. I am most certainly her one-and-only purrson.
