Arrival Story: He was originally adopted in CA from a Siamese rescue, his kitty mom moved to Australia and Sir Ian (formerly Sufjan) had to find a new home.
Poor baby has been moving from house to house, we're number 5 or 6 since his original adoption. He's used to being an only child and has had difficulty adjusting to multi-cat households.
He's been living with us for 6 months and we're still trying to get him and the others acclimated. Although he isn't totally getting along with the other kitties, he is extremely affectionate with me and desperately wants to be loved.
Bio: *** update *** Mommy got an email from my first mom giving her the details of my trip from CA to MA.
I was found in an alley, turned into a Siamese Rescue & adopted by my mom Jesse. She spent 6 months in Australia, so I stayed with some friends of her parents (as a well-cared for only kitty), I liked the man there, & when mom came back I moved back in with her, I had a new trait though, hissing when a little unsettled. Then mom got ready to move to Australia for good, and wanted me to have a good home, so she brought me to MA to live with her Aunt & Uncle - all was okay, until mom left & Aunt & Uncle's kitty started beating the bejeebers out of me. At that time Uncle decided I needed to move & I ended up at my current mommy & daddy's house.
They really love me and have gone through a lot to get me settled and promise to keep trying. They keep in touch with momma Jess to keep her updated and ask questions about what I like & don't like.
Here's hoping we can eventually all get along...

Well, mom thought it was time for me and Mork to try and be together again. For the past few weeks there hasn't been as much poking & prodding through the bars of my "apartment" and there hasn't been much hissing either.
So, this morning, mom let me out, left Monk upstairs, and only slid the accordion door shut at the bottom of the stairs. Mork came down pretty quickly to check things out, and for about 15 (very supervised minutes) everything was fine....then mom went to grab her coffee. Once Mork wasn't under mom's watchful eye, we went at it; even Mindy got involved, which she never does when it's just the two of us, even if Sybil's here, we're okay together.
So, Mork got shut in upstairs, Mindy went up on her own (I think she's headed back this way) and I'm hanging out at the tippy-top of the cat tree.
Mom isn't ready to give up. She's going to keep having supervised free visits until we can at least tolerate each other. We've never before been able to sit near each other, even when being watch, so even though it's slow going, it is still progress.
Paws crossed that we keep getting better. Mom's on vacation in a couple weeks and will work with us a lot during that time.
I just got back from a visit to Dr. Carlson, he's really not a bad guy, but I don't like the car ride there. I had to go three weeks ago because I wasn't using the litter box appropriately (I kept wee-ing outside the box). Mommy was worried that I had an infection or that Mork was making me too nervous to use my box. I had to spend the night and mommy was very upset - but the good doctor wanted to get a "sample" and also do an ultrasound.
The Dr. put me on special food, gave me an antibiotic injection (he didn't think mommy could get a pill in me - I have a habit of biting her in his office) and daddy moved my litter box so Mork can't stare at me when I'm "busy."
We're not sure what the magic solution was, but ever since my overnight visit I've been using the box like the good boy I am. Dr. Carlson says I should be fine, but to keep an eye on me anyway.
He even said that he thinks mommy & daddy are doing fine with me and Mork. Dr C doesn't even think we have bad behaviour issues, he said if it was really bad, I'd still be "missing" the box.
Thanks to all my friends wondering about me. I know that Bailey & her momma were wondering about me, sorry my mommy took so long to update my entry.
