Arrival Story: Lexi and I moved in with some friends and their cats. She quickly became friends with a couple of the other felines, which actually worried me, because we would be moving out eventually, and I didn't want her to lose her friends. So, I decided to get another cat. We went to a small rescue over an hour away, and I was looking at two little kittens. One was a beautifully patterned, friendly and active little tabby girl, and the other was this hissing, spitting, hard little ball of orange and white negativity. The rescue's organizer explained that the little orange hissing ball had just come in that day. His mother was a house cat, never spayed, who accidently got out. She had her kittens, and when they were old enough, they were all taken to a local pet store, except for this one. He was sick at the time, and the pet store wouldn't take him. Once he was the only kitten in the house, he recieved a lot of attention. One little girl would wrap him in a blanket, and carry him around like a baby for a good portion of the day, and he would just take it. But now he was no longer sick, and he had been brought to the rescue, and locked away away from his mother and human family. He did not like it one bit.
His story caught me, and dispite his hostile attitude, I decided to take him home with me. It proved to be one of the best decision of my life. Once he warmed up to me, he turned out to be the most loving creature I have ever known. A true blessing, walking around on four paws.

Bio: Toby was the sweetest kitty I ever met. He was sickly all his life, and it caught up with him way too soon. He died on Dec 26, 2003, but he left part of himself behind in my heart forever.
