Arrival Story:
When I was a freshman in college and living in the dorm, a sophomore came into my room early one Saturday morning, plopped a tiny kitten down on my stomach as I slept, and said, "Congratulations, you have a new pet." A scramble for food and water and two hours later and the shivering kitten was eating her first meal for what had to have been days. It seems she was found crying in a dumpster where she had been left for dead. Unfortunately, there were no pets allowed in the dorms, so after a few narrow escapes with an RA, we convinced a friend's boyfriend to take care of her until Christmas break (only a few days away). Mom has been taking care of her ever since.
Bio:
I studied genetics in college, and my sophomore year class had a heavy focus on cats (a lot of their genes are easily visible in traits like coat color). While studying cat breeds for class I noticed that Rocky looked a lot like the Tonkinese cats, and I have a suspicion she's at least part Tonkinese.
She's not the friendly type, for sure. She doesn't like petting, and she won't cuddle up to you on the couch. But she does catch a lot of mice and birds, and she keeps strangers at bay. The only one who can ever show her physical affection is her friend and adoptive mother Dog.
These days Rocky lives with my mom in Clute, TX, enjoying the salty sea air.
