Arrival Story:
Chester came to me via an email from the friend of a friend of a friend, who was living in Phillipsburg, NJ, just over the river and state-line from the Lehigh Valley. Chester was a stray that she had been feeding through the summer and into the fall. Winter was coming and although she loved the little guy, her current circumstances didn't allow her to take him in. So she sent out the email, looking for a new home for him before the snow started. I had just purchased my house and knew I would soon be looking for a fur-baby. The timing was perfect. When he was dropped off that first night, I was prepared for two weeks of him hiding under things and me trying to bribe him with food and treats. But he walked out of the carrier, sniffed me, rubbed the coffee table and rolled over onto his back. He was home.

Bio:
Apparently, Chester had a twin brother, who also found a home. Although he is happy, every once in a while, he appears to be looking for someone as he wanders around the house calling out. I am considering adopting a sibling for him...someone he can play and snuggle with when I am at work.

Garlic and Catnip:
To Chester, the smell of fresh garlic roasting in olive oil is the same as catnip. He sniffs the air, rubs everything within 5 feet and wiggles around on his back chirping. *edit* Same resaults with olives!

Whew! This past week has been so much fun! My mom took me on a long car ride....she said it was only four hours, but it seemed so much longer! For part of the trip, I got to sit in a window seat and watch the other people (and I'm sure, kitties) travel. We went to my grandma's house and that was fun too...but it smelled like dogs - Yick! The only part I didn't like was the bed I had to sleep in...and I kept waking mom up to tell her. But I am glad to be back home now...I missed my kitty chair! I wonder if we can take it with us the next time we visit...?

I think I overheard mom say last night that she might have to take me back to see the vet 'cause my itchy spot is coming back. I don't want to have to take more pills so I am going to try really hard all day not to bite it...even though it really, really iches.

I was so mad last night...my mom had friends over, and although I love having people come see me, no one would share their food! Ok, one guy did...he snuck me a small piece of pep-roni, but that's all I got...and I tried my best. I sat on everyone's lap and rubbed against their feet. Nothing. And it all smelled so good. Mom and I are going to have to have a talk tonight. From now on, I think that anyone who comes to visit has to feed me too!
