Merlin the Manic Manx

Merlin had many quirky and amusing habits. One that was just incredible was that he seemed to think he was a firefighter cat. I could never burn candles if if he was in the room. He would bat at the flame and put it out. My apartment had that wonderful smell of singed fur, but he didn't get hurt. In fact he would strut away, quite proud of himself. 'Yup, saved the day, I did. One more fire extinguished!' But poor little Merlin - he had a rough time as a baby and we got him through all that and he seemed like a happy and healthy cat. Regrettably he died very unexpectedly at the ripe old age of 3. He was buried in the woods on a friend's farm, and I made a headstone for him on which I wrote (in a Celtic font) 'Merlin the Manic Manx. April 24, 1995 - September 11, 1998.' Below this is a mysterious looking script. It is written in Manx Gaelic. If anyone has it translated, they would find it says, 'I have gone to find my tail.'
