Well, my bloodwork came back and it looks like early stages of renal disease. More details as soon as Mom stops crying.

Okay, dokey! I was formally adopted last night! I think we all KNEW it was bound to happen. But it sure feels good to have it happen!!
I came home and M&D set me up in the bathroom, which is pretty large (but Momma says it needs a complete overhaul). I have my blankies, and a brand new bed (where I slept last night) and a GREAT set-up at one of the windows, with a thick, comfy towel so I can relax while looking at the birds and squirrels in the yard.
Last night, Momma came in the room and sat with me. When I got into my bed, she laid next to me and scratched my chin. I was purring as I fell asleep. It was so much nicer than the stainless steel kennel.
I am hearing the other kitties in the house and we are smelling each other under the door. I make a bit of a fuss when one of them tries to come into the room, but we all know that will stop soon enough.
My diabetes seems under control, I am eating, drinking and running around, exploring. I think I may like it here.

Well, I am looking at the end of my road here at the shelter. In 2 short days, I will become a part of a family. It couldn't have come any sooner, let me tell you! I have HAD it with this kennel business. In fact, I was considering hiring a sign painter, I didn;t know what else to do. I mean, I whined whenever I had to leave Almost Momma's office for the overnight. These last 3 days, I've been talking to anyone who will listen. I kept saying 'Let me out! Go find Momma and tell her to collect me! I'm ready to go to her office and get comfy."
I wanted to sit in the window and watch the birds. I wanted to jump in desk chairs when someone got up! (I act like I'm asleep when they come back! That way, I don't have to move!) I like exploring and running back and forth between two adjoining offices. Yesterday, Almost Daddy brought AM into work. They got me from the hospital ( I was being monitored because I was just diagnosed with diabetes) and I got fussed over by the receptionists. The ladies kept carrying on about how 'different' I was! They said I was so alert and newsy and that I actually was bright eyed and full of energy. Of course! We got the diabetes under control for right now and I haven't felt this good for awhile. The ladies think that its very special how I talk to Momma, too. Okay, but how else am I supposed tolet her know what I want? Momma asked me if I was ready to go to the office. I said YES! She put me down and off I went! She overtook me in the hall so she could unlock the door. She said "Go head in there, Miss Esther!" and I said "Yep!" and went in! The ladies were clapping and saying how great that was! Jeez! I was just being me and being polite while I was at it.
Today was Almost Momma's day off but she came to see me and feed me my special food. I gave her an earful when she opened the cage! I told her that she was late and I was wondering what happened to her. She loved me up, rubbing me and scratching in all the right spots. Daddy did the same thing and so did the nurse, Nicole. I am really looking forward to going home. Momma says the windows look over the yard and garden area. She says there are trees and plenty of bird watching opporunities.
I can't wait!
