Leave a treat for Bertie

Nicknames: Champ

Quick Bio:
 Birthday: August 15th 1995
Likes: prawns, being tickled behind his ears, being talked to, having his teeth brushed with his special poultry flavour toothpaste, watching the street from his cat scratch post, sleeping in sunbeams

Pet-Peeves: children, being brushed, children, going to the vet, children

Favorite Toy: catnip cigar, piece of string, straw, catnip mouse

Favorite Nap Spot: in his basket, various secret spots in wardrobes, on the sofa

Favorite Food: prawns (only from Marks and Spencer!)

Dwells:
indoors and outdoors

Arrival Story: When I went to see the breeder, he came up to me and put his paw up to my hand.....and we live happily ever after. He is a British Shorthair Red Tabby and all his relatives look just like him.

Bio: Bertie is a little naive about other animals. We are over-run with foxes, which is worrying as they have been known to attack cats. Unfortunately, being ginger and with bushy tails, Bertie seems to think they are his relatives and has been seen gazing up into an open jaw...

Lives Remaining: 9 of 9

In Autumn 2010 Bertie was diagnosed with chronic renal failure, to add to his heart condition and bladder stones. We were very worried about him, but in the last year, his various tests results have remained stable, and he has continued to be a happy cat.

This card alludes to the fact that Anne was stranded in Berlin during the ash cloud. After 6 days, she was flown home in a tiny Cessna plane, which took 6 hours from Berlin to Ramsgate, and had to refuel on the way! But by then she would have hung on to the wing....
Thanks as always to Steve of Kingsley Photographic, London W1, for producing the Bertie Xmas card!
