Arrival Story:
When it comes to kitties I revert back to being a 5 year old. They make me melt. I went to PetSmart for a kitty fix one Saturday morning and I saw this little baby up for adoption. She was so playful and sweet. I fell in love in about 5 seconds. I came home and told Vic that he *had* to come see the cutest kitten I've ever seen. We went back, but no one was there to let us into the room to play with her, so we called the number and she said to come back the next day. We did and Vic loved her too! We filled out the adoption application right then. Three days later we found out we were approved and 3 days after that she was brought over for her 2 week trial period.

I'm pretty sure that Willow has some Chartreux in her. Color, temperament and characteristics match the Cat Fanciers FAQ pretty well. Characteristics and Temperament Chartreux are less talkative than other breeds. Many Chartreux are completely mute: they purr, but cannot meow. Others have a quiet, high pitched meow or chirp which they use infrequently. This quietness can be a plus, but remember that a silent cat cannot let you know when it is lost or in trouble. Neither gregarious nor shy, Chartreux are calmly attentive to the world, and will tend to hang back and observe, rather than rushing in. They are tolerant and gentle with strangers, small children, and other animals. They tend to withdraw from conflict rather than becoming fearful or aggressive. They accommodate themselves to most situations without complaint, travel well, and do not mind being left alone for long periods. They are natural hunters, more interested in chasing and "killing" a toy than in romping around or wrestling in play. Even in play they are efficient, watching until the perfect moment and then letting loose with a fast and accurate pounce. They play in short spurts, sleeping and relaxing the rest of the time. They are creatures of habit and enjoy the same games and rituals day after day. Towards those they love, Chartreux display a passionate devotion that strangers would never guess at. They prefer to be nearby, preferably getting their jowls scratched and giving loving head-bumps to their owners! They will follow you everywhere, comfort you when you are sad or ill, and prefer to sleep with you or on top of you. Their supportive, cheerful presence can be wonderful for elderly people and people living alone. Yet this devotion is never obtrusive. They do not demand attention, and are content to sit quietly when you are busy. They have a strong sense of proper behavior and strive to be "good citizens." They likewise appreciate courtesy from others, and remember how they have been treated. Chartreux are highly sensitive to scolding and praise, although they can sometimes be slow learners. Be patient and forgiving with this gentle breed.

A Day in the Life of Willow

Moo-ving

October 27th 2008 1:31 pm   [link to this entry]

Mommy says we are moo-ving. She says that means that I get to be the only kitty again! YAY! Murphy is mean :(, she never wants to play. Maybe Mommy will get me a little bro-fur or sister to play with. *paws crossed*

I hope the new house is as nice as grandmaw's and grandpaw's.

Doctor....AGAIN!

August 3rd 2008 7:57 am   [link to this entry]

Mommy took me to the doctor again...I keep trying to tell her that I'm not sick, but she doesn't listen. She told me that I sas going to get my teeth cleaned. (pleh!)

Anyway....she brought me inside and the mean ole nurse took me without letting me say goodbye to Mommy. She looked so sad when I was going thru the scary door.

I was really scared...they stuck me with needles and took my blood! They gave me something that made me feel sleepy. Then the doggies started coming. After the doggies showed up the nurse tried to stick something up my butt! I was having NONE of it...too many doggies. I kept hissing and trying to scratch (Mommy had just trimmed my claws) and nipping at them all.

The nurse called Mommy and told her that I would have to come back when there aren't so many doggies.

Daddy took me home and I couldn't walk right cause of the sleepy stuff they gave me at the doctor. He said I looked funny...I kept falling off of the couch too.

I feek MUCH butter today, and I'm playing like I'm a baby again.

Mommy

July 18th 2008 7:21 am   [link to this entry]

Mommy stayed home with me and Daddy yesterday. She was feeling icky and slept aaaaaaaaaalllllllllll day! But I slept with her to keep her warm. I think she appreciated it. I love my mommy and I don't want her to feel icky. I think she's better today cause she left again this morning. Where DOES she go every day? I wanna go with her! She always tells me to be a good girl for Daddy and that she'll see me later.
