indoors Arrival Story: When it comes to kitties I revert back to being a 5 year old. They make me melt. I went to PetSmart for a kitty fix one Saturday morning and I saw this little baby up for adoption. She was so playful and sweet. I fell in love in about 5 seconds. I came home and told Vic that he *had* to come see the cutest kitten I've ever seen. We went back, but no one was there to let us into the room to play with her, so we called the number and she said to come back the next day. We did and Vic loved her too! We filled out the adoption application right then. Three days later we found out we were approved and 3 days after that she was brought over for her 2 week trial period. Lives Remaining: 9 of 9 Forums Motto: but, Mama...I wanna play! The Groups I'm In: PETS for OBAMA, Royal CaninĀ® Felines, Shades of Gray, Stuff On My Cat's CCLs in their GPs
So, we moooved again. I wasn't so sure about it at first, but when we got to the new home, I was VERY pleased to see that it was MUCH bigger! It even has stairs to play on. I LOVE IT! New sights, new sounds, lots of birdies (& outdoor kitties) to watch. Daddy said that one of the outside kitties brought us a birdie as a present. Mommy said "ew" but I thought that was very nice of the kitteh.
My sisfur, Peanut, it slowly getting used to it. She didnt eat for a very long time and didnt use the litter box either, but she's getting better now. At least she's using the box, but not eating much. I hope she doesnt lose too much weight. Maybe Mommy will give her teh gooshy food so that she has something (and that means I'LL get some too...heh heh heh).
Well, hopefully Mommy will take some nice piktures of us in our new house and post them on catster soon.
So, Mommy told me last night that the test the mean doctor did a couple weeks ago came back +4 positive for Bartonella. Mommy's going to pick up my medicine today after slog. I hope it's as tasty as the medicine I have now. Mommy couldn't believe how bad my infection was, but she's happy that we found out what's actually causing my gingivitis....it HURTS! Anyway, she said I'll feel better soon and that my old doctor was stupid!
Thanks everyone for your zealie gifts when you read about my blood tests. It made me feel alot better.
Mommy took me to the doctor last week. I like the new doctor. She's very sweet with me. She did poke me with a needle once tho, but I was very good about it cause she said I needed it to not get sick. The doctor told my mommy that my gingivitis might be caused by Bartonella (cat scratch fever). Mommy asked what that was and the doctor told her that it was caused by flea dirt that gets into my blood. Mommy said that I've never had fleas since she's been my mommy, but maybe I had them before she was Mommy. I don't remember if I had fleas so I just kept quiet. I was too little to remember. The doctor told Mommy that I needed to come in for blood testing on Saturday AM. (I did NOT like the sound of 'blood testing').
So....Mommy brought me back to the doctor's house on Saturday, but the doctor wasn't there. Just some other lady. The lady stuck me with a needle and took the blood OUT of me! Then she tried again for more! I said 'NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' (Mommy told me later that she heard me in the waiting room.) They let me rest for a little while, and I thought that they were going to bring me back to Mommy, but they stuck me again and took out even more blood. I did not like it, but Mommy said that we needed to so that they can know if I have Bartonella or not. Mommy gave me lots of treats when I got home too. She didn't like that I was so scared and hurt when they stuck me with needles.
