Arrival Story:
My mom and I started to feed a stray cat same time everyday (we namd her Winnie). In the beginning of winter, she started to getting fatter. We suspected she was pregnant. The one day she didn't show up for two days. She came back much skinnier. We tried to follow her back to her den, but she never went there. Weeks passed and since it was winter, we thought the babies died. Then one day, January 19, after I got home from dialysis- there they were. Three beautiful kittens (the first picture I ever took of them is to your left). They were already about 6 weeks old. My mom, dad, grandma, grandpa & me all take turns petting, feeding, sheltering, and playing with them. They are probably the most spoiled strays in town.

Bio:
On one of the hottest days of the summer 0f 2007, Buddy almost used all nine of his lives at one time. At 11am, I called Buddy and his bothers and mother for chow time. Buddy was laying in the middle of the driveway, in direct sunlight (90 degrees F), hardly breathing and not moving. I knew something was wrong, and called the vet. Of couse, on a Saturday, the closest energency vet was a 45 minute ride away. After 2 weeks of overnight stays at the animal hospital, driving the 45 minutes to visit every other day and over $500 in vet bills, they finally figured out his problem. He had a 'warble'. What is a warble you ask? A 'warble' is a botfly larvae that burrows a hole deep into the skin, leaving a hole for it to breathe. It stays there until it matures and then crawls out and flies away. Gross!! Buddy was having an anaphylactic reaction to the warble and he would have died if they hadn't cut it out when then did. If he ever gets another one, which is possible since he is an outdoor cat, he will probably die. After this whole incident, Buddy has never been the same. His right eye doesn't open all the way, as if he had a stroke.
