Likes:
The Laser, helping around the house, boxes and bags

Pet-Peeves:
Getting picked up or taken to the bedroom when I'm still busy doing something. Any kind of medicine, especially in the ears, and nail trims!!

Favorite Toy:
I'm addicted the to The Laser. Any time my owners say "laser?" I can't help but give a little chatter and get ready to chase it like crazy!

Favorite Nap Spot:
I like the dining room chairs, the cat tower, my owner's bed, my cat bed, and in the back window.

Favorite Food:
I only eat Purina hairball formula, and once in a while I get Pounce treats and greenies. I get Viralys on my food every day and I like that. I love sweet tastes!

Skills:
Blowing human minds with my cuteness and bending them to my will just by looking at them. :) I know some English words like "laser?" and "eyedrop time", and also "don't do it" "no" and "get down" (in that order, should I choose to ignore the first two).

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
My mother and about 40 other persians, scottish folds, and persian/scottish fold mixes were confiscated from a hoarder last year by the Humane Society of Yuma. I was born at the Humane Society. Renie already volunteered there and as soon as she heard about us she took me and my 3 littermates home to foster. We didn't have names yet, so she named me Borscht and named the other three Zaida (torbie), Ceana (pronounced Kenna, dilute torbie) and Camran (orange tabby like me!). We were three weeks old and she bottle fed us until we could eat regular food. I always screamed the loudest for my food! Ceana and Camran went to a rescue elsewhere in Arizona. Zaida was adopted by Renie's co-worker (she works at a vet clinic), and she found that it was physically impossible for her to part with me so her and Travis kep me. :) Renie says I tie for her favoritest cat ever! The tie would be with Vitaly, who disappeared some time ago.

Bio:
I recently had surgery on my left eye for complications after a corneal tear. I had to have a bunch of scar tissue and stuff scraped off of the eye and had amnion put on while it all healed. The original injury happened about 8 months ago. On August 9th, 2008 I finally got out of my e-collar and my eye is well on it's way to full recovery. Whoo-hoo!

Allergies?

October 12th 2008 11:43 am   [link to this entry]

Today I've felt really itchy and been grooming myself more than usual. My eyes and ears especially have been bothering me. I keep pulling myself along the carpet, rubbing my head on it, and scratching at my chin. I've been sneezing a little too. Renie wonders if I might have an allergy, or if I got into something that's irritating me. I didn't get into anything so it must be something in the air or who knows what.

Well right now I'm just hanging out in the computer room with Renie while she watches some DVDs. Talk to you later! Borscht

Goings-On

October 10th 2008 7:13 pm   [link to this entry]

Something funny happened the other day. Travis brought home this plastic box and set it in the living room with the top open. It had a short stack of newspapers in the bottom. Well I thought it was a fancy new litterbox that my owners put in the front of the house for my convenience, so I obliged them and peed in it. Renie found me as I was attempting to bury it (which was impossible with flat pieces of paper), and that was when I found out the box was for recycling newspapers and wasn't a litterbox at all. Oops! Now they keep the lid closed all the time, which is annoying. You know how I love boxes! Now that I know it's a regular box I want to play in it, so I keep scratching at the outside and sitting on the top trying to open. So far nothing has worked.

But there is good news on the toy front! This morning Renie, Travis and I went to the mall. Renie dropped Travis off for a haircut and the two of us went to Petsmart to get me a new laser!!!! My old one got lost a little while ago. After we got the laser we sat outside together for a while waiting for Travis to be done. We got to watch a lot of people walk by and I don't know why but they all looked at us funny. I guess it's the whole "only dogs do that" thing. :) After that Renie took me to her work meeting, which was pretty okay considering it's the clinic. I just curled up on her lap and if anyone touched me I hissed at them.

This weekend Renie's cousin is staying with us. He's twelve. He's pretty noisy but he's okay. He likes me and gives me attention, so that automatically puts him on my good side. ;)

Talk to you later! Borscht

Disturbing Activities

October 5th 2008 9:00 pm   [link to this entry]

Renie has officially lost it. She just got done acting like a complete lunatic and crawling around on the floor after me. At first it was like she was just bending down, which I've seen her do plenty of times. But when she started actually crawling it totally freaked me out. For one thing, she's giant sized for a cat, and for another, her hind legs bend the wrong way and it looks really gross. Thankfully, this is the first time she's done this and hopefully it will be the last.

Well as I was writing this, Nestor came crying at the window. Renie opened it and let him jump onto the windowsill and pet him for a little bit. She's afraid he's not vaccinated though so she doesn't let him all the way in and doesn't let us have contact. I just watched from behind her on a filing cabinet and Natalie watched from near her feet. He doesn't look as scratched up as he did last time we saw him. Renie says he must belong somewhere because he's obviously eating even though he's not neutered. She really wishes she could get him fixed! But that'll have to be up to whoever owns him.

Goodnight! Borscht
