Likes: The Laser, helping around the house, boxes and bags
Pet-Peeves: Getting picked up or taken to the bedroom when I'm still busy doing something. Any kind of medicine, especially in the ears, and nail trims!!
Favorite Toy: I'm addicted the to The Laser. Any time my owners say "laser?" I can't help but give a little chatter and get ready to chase it like crazy!
Favorite Nap Spot: I like the dining room chairs, the cat tower, my owner's bed, my cat bed, and in the back window.
Favorite Food: I only eat Purina hairball formula, and once in a while I get Pounce treats and greenies. I get Viralys on my food every day and I like that. I love sweet tastes!
Skills: Blowing human minds with my cuteness and bending them to my will just by looking at them. :) I know some English words like "laser?" and "eyedrop time", and also "don't do it" "no" and "get down" (in that order, should I choose to ignore the first two).
Arrival Story: My mother and about 40 other persians, scottish folds, and persian/scottish fold mixes were confiscated from a hoarder last year by the Humane Society of Yuma. I was born at the Humane Society. Renie already volunteered there and as soon as she heard about us she took me and my 3 littermates home to foster. We didn't have names yet, so she named me Borscht and named the other three Zaida (torbie), Ceana (pronounced Kenna, dilute torbie) and Camran (orange tabby like me!). We were three weeks old and she bottle fed us until we could eat regular food. I always screamed the loudest for my food! Ceana and Camran went to a rescue elsewhere in Arizona. Zaida was adopted by Renie's co-worker (she works at a vet clinic), and she found that it was physically impossible for her to part with me so her and Travis kep me. :) Renie says I tie for her favoritest cat ever! The tie would be with Vitaly, who disappeared some time ago.
Bio: I recently had surgery on my left eye for complications after a corneal tear. I had to have a bunch of scar tissue and stuff scraped off of the eye and had amnion put on while it all healed. The original injury happened about 8 months ago. On August 9th, 2008 I finally got out of my e-collar and my eye is well on it's way to full recovery. Whoo-hoo!
Well, yesterday one of the clients from Renie's clinic came and took Diogenes away! WHOO-HOO! I am SO happy!! I can finally have my house back and not have to worry about getting jumped every five seconds. Diogenes is going to live with a woman and a female kitten who's a week older than him. The lady who took him said her cat is as hyper as Diogenes! So they should have fun playing together.
Unfortunately today had a little bit of a rough spot in it. Renie drove through KFC for lunch and took me with. Well, when we get home she always takes in her purse and whatever else, then comes back for me. But today she totally forgot me! For about half an hour!!! I was SO MAD....I thought I might have to stay out there overnight! Even though I was mad, I was so relieved to be inside that I couldn't help headbutting her and swirling around her legs like crazy. :)
Well, back to watching dove out the back window...bye!
I've been in hiding from Diogenes for quite a while now, which is why I haven't written in a long time. At first I wanted to be friends with him, but he is TOO CRAZY! I think he has a mental disorder. ha ha He literally can't sit still for one second unless he's asleep. Tish mainly ignores him and hides when she's in, and Natalie all-out attacks him, so I get stuck with him the most since I'm long-suffering and too nice for my own good. Whenever he's around he relentlessly attacks me and jumps in my face. It's SO irritating! He loves my tail floof too. I just keep turning my head away until I finally have to get up and hide somewhere. ONCE in a while we actually play, but usually he's too hyper to even focus on that. So I mainly try to avoid him. :) Well, back into hiding!
Well yesterday Renie took Diogenes to the clinic for a recheck and the doctor said he could come out and be with me now. At first I was excited and of course as soon as he was set down outside the bathroom I followed him everywhere with my nose stuck to him. It turns out however that so far he's more interested in exploring the house than in me! Foolish kitten! So I hid under the bed in a huff for a while. He slept with me in my bathroom last night on a separate tier of the cat tower. He's definitely not as sociable as Zinc was!
Today he's been walking around the house more and pouncing on various objects. I've been following him and trying to start up some play, but he's still not that interested. It's not like he's afraid of me or DISlikes me, because he'll walk up and rub on me and walk back and forth underneath me. Sometimes he rears up and boxes me a little, but then he just goes off on his own. It's like his mind is always somewhere else. Well, maybe he'll warm up with time. Then we can play a lot and I can teach him everything I know about being awesome. ;)
Oh, and we match! He's over his upper respiratory illness, but his left eye is cloudy still. The doctor said it's probably edema from his illness and it may or may not go away.
