Arrival Story: We had one cat already at the time, and my father promised my brother that if he cleaned up a puddle of cat barf in the hallway, we could get a second cat. My brother cleaned it up, and we got Sterling that summer. We picked him up from a lady in Tennessee on our way home from New Mexico to Virginia. The first night we had him, he hid in the box springs of the bed in our hotel room.

Bio: He was the oldest cat I've owned, suffered a hematoma in his left ear, and was going deaf and blind. Supposedly, he was a purebred, but we don't think that he really was because of his body shape. Sterling was known for chewing through plastic cables, like phone cords, and for eating baby dolls. He also ripped apart a few Pound Puppies in his day. On November 9, 2004, at the age of 17, Sterling disappeared. We believe he curled up somewhere outside and passed away in his sleep. He was a good cat, and I'll miss him. When I was younger, he would come into my room and visit me at night. We would play at slapping each other's hands, and he would chase my feet and hands under the covers. I'll always remember the first time I witnessed him throwing up; Dad had music playing on the radio, and I mistakenly thought that Sterlin was dancing to it. Dear Sterling... I'll miss him very much. - Middle Name: Hissel
