Arrival Story: Marvin's mother likely suffered from the same disease as he has so it's possible she forgot where she left him. A friend found him half dead on a construction sight. He was apprx a week or 2 old. She fed him with a bottle but had many other commitments and couldn't feed him every 2 -4 hours so he got rickets. He was 3 weeks old when I saw him for the first time. His little legs were completely curled up and twisted from malnutrition, and he was crusty and smelly with milk and body waste, but he laid in the palm of my hand and purred with a mighty strength. We took him to a vet immediately and she gave us formula and a bottle to feed him. She didn't hold out much hope that he would survive but survive he did. His legs grew straight and the only sign of the past malnutrition is his skull grew just slightly crooked, but you'd never know it looking at him. He's beautiful, healthy, happy and going on 13. Every day with Marvin is a marvel.

Bio: Marvin is a special kitty. He has a congenital disease that I can never remember the name of but is sort of the cat equivalent to Down's Syndrome. This really just means he is the sweetest animal to ever live. He is basically like a kitten though he is now quite old. He looks at everything with wide eyes of wonder. He always wants to play and cannot resist a moving shadow or string. His balance is pretty non-existent so we try not to tempt him to jump on counters - it's not pretty when he falls (which is often). His favorite pastime is climbing into your arms like a baby and staying there, purring, as long as you'll let him. Everyone who knows him loves him. Our friends have been calling him an angel for years.
