When Sophie came to live with us, I really wanted another kitten so she wouldn't pester the older cats. Within the week, I was at the shelter. I saw this cute orange guy in a little cage and asked for him to be brought to me in the adoption room. This guy was purrrrring extremely loudly. He was very active too. But it was his affectionate nature that got to me. I had him in my home in less than 3o minutes.
Bio:
Jake is such a smart boy. If he's bored, he causes trouble. He loves to shred paper. I'm lucky that he loves playing with Sophie. But if Sophie is sleeping, my boy is isn't everything. I have to constantly check my fridge and clothes dryer when he's around. He loves to jump into places. I feel extremely blessed that they boy hasn't had an accident that's caused him to go to the vet. I've read recently of other cats who have fallen and split open a paw and the other strained a leg muscle. With the way Jake runs around here up, down, over and under, we're lucky that he hasn't injured himself.
Jake lies in wait for me to get home from work. He hangs out in the bedroom window that's actually near the front door. After he greets me and I pretend to scratch him through the window, he jumps down and races out of the bedroom to try to run out of the front door as I'm getting in. I've taken to leaving and entering with a spray water bottle in my hands because it's the only way I can keep the guy inside. Still he gets out at least twice a month. He is a considerate boy though because he pretty much stays in the front yard. The boy is fast though. The first time he escaped I must have chased him for 45 mins. back and forth from side to side. I wish he would allow me to put a harness on him because i think he would enjoy walking. It's been a long time since he refused to wear it, I may try again.
