indoors and outdoors Arrival Story: This pretty and shy gray and white cat showed up at our front porch skinny and very thirsty. The children who lived here couldn't say no to this kitty even though they had a handsome long haired black cat on just the other side of the door. Well, the mom had to add food and this cat had picked her new family. It was just the family didn't know it yet. The youngest boy named her Nimue the name of the witch girlfriend of Merlin in the King Arthur stories he loved. That and his family's boy cat was Merlin who always watched fascinated by Nimue.
The family thought wrong that one cat was enough and found a home for Nimue miles away. She went into a carrier and was gone. The youngest boy found out he was allergic to dark long-haired cats and Merlin moved in across the street with our favorite catlady. Just as the family started to talk about how much they missed Nimue a week later, they pull into their driveway and there she is standing in front of the house looking tired but happy. She had gotten away at her first chance and had walked all the way back to the family with the Mom, three children and even a dog person grandmother(yuck). The grandmother had to agree that this cat was ours by her say so, she'd picked us twice and went to a lot of trouble to come back. She moved in immediately after the youngest swore he would even take allergy medicine if she could stay. Funny how he doesn't have to because he has no symptoms with this cat. Nimue decided that the children were fine but the Mom feeds her and that meant that she was Nimue's to keep company because you never know when food might be involved! Bio: Nimue died in September of 2008 of stomach cancer. We still miss her cuddling and purring!
