Arrival Story:
One snowy March day, a beautiful large orange and white cat strolled up to my friend's dog. He'd been hanging out on her block on the upper west side for a few weeks, and had a infected cut on his leg, so she decided to take him in, get him checked out, and give him to her friend whose cat had recently died. Next day at work she told me, "Marie, I think I have your cat, but I gave him to Brooke. But Brooke will give him back." Turns out the lovely orange and white boy was totally crazy and knocked Brooke's cat's ashes off the mantle. Oof! So, I took him. I named him Po, then I named him Wrigley, and finally he told me his name was Mungo Baguette.

Mungo was totally wild when he came indoors. There were a lot of time-outs, and a lot of long talks. I finally hit on the idea of playing classical music when I left him alone, and played very vigorously with him when I got home from work. After several months, Mungo became a productive member of society, and went on to have a popular webpage. Oh, yeah, and it turns out he wasn't a cat at all--he was half-weasel, half-wolverine. But he looked just like a cat! Mungo was very young when he left us, but he lived a full life with eternity packed into every second.
