Nicknames: Charlie Bell, Charlie Belly, Big Boy, Char Bear
Birthday: April 4th 1995
Coloration: Brown Tabby
Likes: Pretending he's a master hunter in the wild. And food.
Pet-Peeves: When the dog gets too playful.
Favorite Toy: His kick pillow.
Favorite Nap Spot: The heated bed I got for his brother before he passed away.
Favorite Food: Anything, but he eats raw.
Skills: He took to his asthma inhaler in record time!
Arrival Story: Charlie was in a shelter in Chicago, he was found on the street at about 11 mos. He was pretty evil for the first 3 years of his life! He's independent and strong. He would love to be an only cat, but he's been such a good boy every time I've asked him to live with multiple dogs and cats. Charlie was my first cat ever so he is very special to me, even though he hardly has a lovable bone in his body.
Charlie's huge appetite started to wane in 2011. In August, we bought a house and moved. He had moved 7 times in his life and it had never phased him before, but this time it was stressful for him and he stopped eating. He was soon diagnosed with a mysterious liver mass and lived two more months. I love my naughty, naughty boy and miss him with all my heart. He left a very big void after 15 years.
Bio: Charlie ate kibble for most of his life, but has had to have two surgeries to remove bad teeth. Don't believe the hype about dry food! When I switched him to raw, he lost two pounds and is a little healthier weight.
Forums Motto: Why did they take almost all my tooths??
I had a brother, Oscar, for about 12 years. I tolerated him ok but for the most part I picked on him. He died in August and that really didn't phase me at all. I thought it was about time I was the only kitty!!!
But now there is this strange little girl kitten in my house!!! She has been here, blocked off in the music room, for almost two weeks now. I saw her a couple times through a crack in the door and HISSED, but she didn't leave, the little buggar!!!
Yesterday mom put the kitten in a crate in the kitchen, and put me in the kitchen. All I have to say to that is, the kitten looks weird but the chicken I was fed tasted great!!!
Now today, mom put the kitten in a crate AGAIN, only this time she expected me to eat my food with her near me. I could feel her looking at me. I tried to eat my food, but I looked at her and she was eating her own food. I wasn't convinced though, I think she wants my food too. So I got outta there without finishing my meal.
After mom put the little invader back in the music room, I went back and finished my meal. Mom has been telling me that the little girl won't hurt me and that she wants her to live with us like Oscar did. So, I'm doing my best, but I'm still not sure about this whole situation.
