Arrival Story:
Nerys was born to a near feral mama cat who came into our shelter pregnant. I remember when she was born how her unusual markings stood out. Nearly completely white, she had what looked like a completely black tail and a few orange markings especially on her head (Very Turkish Van-like). Obviously a calico, I didn't bother checking her gender. She quickly became my favorite of the litter. At the time, I already had seven cats and knew I couldn't keep her. Unfortunately, my first cat Simba Master Stubbins became very ill and dropped half his body weight in a very short time. When it became obvious there was nothing the vet could do to help him, I had to have him euthanized due to liver failure on my third wedding anniversary. I still hadn't planned to adopt Nerys and took her to the shelter to be fixed and given up for adoption. But, I just couldn't do it and ended up adopting her and bringing her back to the home where she was born.
