"We got new toys from Auntie Natalie! That's me on the far right, my brofur Del on the far left, Zeke in the box, Berlioz in back, and Toulouse wearing brown stripes."
"Hummmm, I'm on this side, and they're on the other side. How come? I must be special or something? Ohhhh....it's because they engage in pee wars. I would never do such a thing."
Leave a treat for Majicou Nicknames: Majic Birthday: September 1st 2007 Arrival Story: "Majicou" was relinquished to the shelter where I work. His name was "Furby" when he arrived. He became "Chance" at the shelter, and became "Majicou" today 2/7/08, on his first full day in his new furrever home. He was born to a stray Mother as part of a litter of four cats, all the same coloring, 2 boys, and 2 girls. He was raised on the front porch of a nice man's home in San Bernardino, CA., until he was brought to our shelter. I had a thing for this kitty from the moment I saw him. I remember wishing I could adopt him, but I had a very sick kitty at home who required a lot of my attention. Shelby was the great love of my life. He passed away on January 17, 2008 after a long and brave battle with illness. No kitty can ever replace him. Shelby will always hold a special place in my heart, and no kitty will ever occupy that special place. Yet the empty place in our home after Shelby left had to be filled. The nights were long and lonely, and unbearable to get through. I decided yesterday that I would bring this young boy kitty home with me after work. Last night, 2/6/08, was his first night in our home. It was the first time my husband and I had laughed in many weeks. Shelby's illness was very emotionally draining for much of the past 1 1/2 years. I would not trade that time for anything, and I would do it all over again......in fact I wish I could, but Shelby could not live forever. Bio: Many of you who know our Catster family, also know that I have a large group of rescues that live in part of our home, as well as in the confines of a large cat enclosure (which can be viewed on fur family member Tupac's page). Shelby did not live in the cat's area of the home, he lived with my husband and I, but was allowed access to wherever he wanted, and would often join the rescue cats in their areas. Majicou will be living with us now, in the area of the home occupied by the humans, and the troll cat that lives under the bed (but that's another story altogether) and eventually Majicou will be offered to come and go within the confines of the outdoor cat enclosure if he choses to. Well, as some of you may know, I don't like cats very much, but I love my dogs, and I have three now. Mom and Dad recently got my another one. His name is Marty, and I like him best of all. Do take a moment to view our videos of you can.
Anyway, Marty was to be here only on a foster basis cause he was so very very sick when he went to the shelter where Mom works. Mom had to remove him from the shelter and he was soooo emaciated, and he had this terrible cough and stuff. He was really weak so I left him alone and didn't even bother him. She gave him antibiotics and sub-q fluids and he's doing real good now and his ribs don't show, and he doesn't cough or anything! He and I have so much fun that Mom said he could stay and live with us. I think the hoomans are hoping that maybe I won't bother the troll cat so much if I have Marty to play with.
Not much else is going on. I got another cat tree so I have three of them now. I got more toys too. Mom and Dad close me out of my room at 10:00 p.m. so the troll cat can play in peace. I don't get to go back in there until 5:00 a.m., and only then cause I scratch Mom's face and howl until she opens the door. Humph, the nerve of some hoomans!!
I got a cat enclosure of my very own to keep me safe and protected. I've made it very clear to my new family that I have no intention of mingling with the rif raf cats on the other side of the glass then door, or sharing their enclosure, and they'd better not have any thoughts of entering *mine* either! Sure, I look at them sometimes, but I just walk away. I don't want to go in there.....no way!!
I like it just fine on my side of the house with Mom and Dad and the dogs....oh yeah, and the troll cat that now lives in the hole in the new cat tree instead of under the bed.
I know, I know, I still haven't told you about him. Maybe next time. Meanwhile, check out the pictures of my very own enclosure where I can look out over the back yard in one part, and look out over the swimming pool in the other. I just love it!! I spend lots of time in it!
