Arrival Story:
I promised my husband -- No... More....Cats. I meant it too! I told him I'd only rescue another cat if it came up to me, crying and starving. Honest. Guess what. At a music festival, among 500 other campers at a county fairground, here comes this pathetic white cat, dirty and starving, and crying for food, walking right up to ME. Eating lettuce out of the garbage can. I scooped him up and put him in our trailer, ran to the grocery and bought bags of canned food, dry food a disposable litter pan. Enter our life: Skiddy. I can't tell you why I never even tried to adopt him out. He just touched my heart. Oh, I know I should have. Life would have been simpler. But he gave such great head butts (and he's so stingy with them now!). He loved us, and life, so very much. I just felt he was ours from the moment I saw him.

Bio:
Skiddy wants to be the alpha kitty, and our other five cats disagree on that little fact. It is not always an easy life being one of six cats in a house that never meant to have more than 3. Skiddy tries to dominate sometimes, and sometimes he gets cut down a peg or two. Sometimes he makes his mark. Occasionally, we have a scratched nose in the house. Nothing very serious, knock on wood. But it's been an adjustment for all concerned. Skiddy was a name that just came about for this cat. He runs like his tail is on fire, and slides from room to room. Literally, he skids into about everything. He jumps on his mouse and skids on it for 20 feet. No kidding. Skiddy is quite literally one very skiddy kitty. Another odd thing about Skiddy.... when photographed, one eye will reflect red, and one green -- yet both appear to be the same. Anyone who knows why, email Skiddy and let him know! You can see this in one of the photos. In two other photos you can see Skiddy when he first came to live with us (about 2 weeks later, after he was neutered and isolated). See the cats lined up outside the door when it was first opened for a peek at the mystery kitty? In another one, Skiddy is on his side, and you can see his ribs plainly. This was after two weeks of fattening him up, too. Now Skiddy is a bit hefty, but not fat really. Brilliant white too. And his fur got longer! What's up with that, eh? I expected the weight gain, but his fur grew too! :-)
