Arrival Story: I knew I wanted a kitten, so I walked to a girl's house who had tons and tons of cats (usually a few litters of kittens at a time). She was home, and seemed happy to let me in. There was a beautiful kitty of copper shades on her lap, she must've seen me admiring because she was quick to let me know the copper cat was hers! In the kitchen was a litter of half-blind kittens tripping over themselves and each other. One of them was a tiny little white thing that glided over the floor like ice-on-ice, half of her tiny black tail was shades of grey. After scanning the rest of the kittens my mind set back to the little greyscale baby in the kitchen. After three long weeks I took her home!

Bio: Wink's a June baby, like me, so her make-believe birthday is June 22, 2004 (like mine). Her adopted daddy is tall dark and handsome and italian, she has his long legs and taste for tomato sauce. A friend once told me she is me if I were a kitten. My twelve year old sister, Dana, helps take care of her when I'm at Wink's daddy's or at cheerleading practice.

When my family came to take me home I was really sick. There were so many cats around and my home and we were all getting sick. I loved my brothers and sisters there, we played all day and since we lived in the kitchen, we could play with scattering feet all day. When the girl first came I was too little to go home with her, and none of the other kitties were as cool as me. So she waited until I grew up enough. I came home and in a few weeks I met the other big, black kitty. He hated me and wanted me away from his family and bit me and scratched me and watched me bleed until someone heard us fighting. Well, he did it again last night. Now I’m six months old now and he’s a very big cat so I don’t think he’ll ever like me.
The girls say it’s because it’s Mateo (the big black cat’s) nature. He was raised on the streets and they rescued him from a pound where he was trapped behind a cage. No one wanted him, he was too old. So the girl got him, but he could never act like a kitty. He lived to be outside and didn’t much like being with people unless they’re giving him something.
So the girls are confused with what to do. She doesn’t want to give me up, because I am magic, she says. But Mateo doesn’t deserve staying outside like he always has to, now..
