Arrival Story:
Mia and her sister were due to be euthanized and were picked up at the shelter just in time. However, they ended up living in the basement of a cat hoarder and became very sick. The hoarder was evicted and I received an emergency email for foster homes. Since it was in my area, I offered my help, but I had never done any fostering previously. I was told that there were 5 kittens that no one would take because they were sick with colds, and I said I would take them. The next day I was to pick up the 5 kittens, they called and said an adult cat was also coming down with a cold and asked me to take him. I said okay. I met the lady that was helping get 60 cats into foster homes and picked up the 6. I took them immediately to the vet because they looked so sick. The good news for Mia and her sister Bella is that we have finally got them well. We fell in love with them all and decided, what's 6 more cats anyway???

Bio:
Mia is a sweetheart and gets along with my four resident cats extremely well. She is finally getting to be a kitten and is enjoying playing with all her new toys and running though the house. It's so much fun to watch because there was a time we didn't think she would live.

A lot has happened in Mia's World. We have new babies in our home. They were rescued by my Mom from Animal Control and only had a few more days to live.
Mia doesn't understand......... Why let kittens be born if you're only going to let them live a few weeks?

One year ago....

One year ago this month life wasn't worth living. One year ago I lived in a basement with 70 other cats. THEN, one year ago I was rescued, and I'm giving thanks this Thanksgiving for having a Mom and Dad, food, good health, and a good home. What a lucky girl I am to have a furever home!!! I wish this for everykitty. 4, Mia
