Well, friends, my sister and I are proud to have made it to 6 months old -- and we've tripled in size since The Big Cat brought us home!
The Big Cat is very proud of the way that my tail is filling in, or so she tells me about a hundred times a day. She says it's becoming a veritable Coon tail.
I'm not just getting bigger, though, I'm also growing smarter! For example, I have learned how to tunnel under the covers (or at least paw at the covers until The Big Cat draws them back); it's warmer underneath -- AND Bluebell's too afraid to come under, so I get The Big Cat all to myself.
Oh, and I figured out that the water bowl doubles as a swimming pool! Nothing like splashing around the kitchen on a hot summer day. (I quickly taught my sister this trick, as well -- wouldn't want her left out of THAT fun!)
Lessee, what else ... oh! I've gotten very good at, um, "collecting" things, let's call it. When The Big Cat leaves, say, her keys or her ponytail holders on the counters, I've learned to retrieve them very quickly, before she even notices they're gone! I've been testing my speed recently; you wouldn't believe how quickly I can get a paw reached up to the counter, unseen out of peripheral vision.
I can't wait until I'm big enough to reach even MORE things -- oh, what fun THAT will be!
Purrs,
Violet

My sister and I have been staying with the Big Cat for six weeks now (at least, that's what she says), but there still seems to be a lot we haven't explored here! As we get bigger, we find new things we can reach and nooks and crannies we can invade--er, survey.
We're both growing a lot (the Big Cat swears she sees a difference every day, but I think she exaggerates), but unlike my sister, I've been too busy to keep still to be photographed in my new larger size. (That's the excuse I'm providing. I swear it has nothing to do with the ringworm that was on my face. Just too much to do to sit still for photos, that's all.)
I like to sit on the Big Cat's lap as she sits in front of the mirror in the morning. She takes out all sorts of fun things that I can swat at, like furry things on sticks! I get up with her every morning (Bluebell's in charge of waking us all up), and then I lead her to the kitchen to make sure she knows that food is the utmost priority. She bravely goes under the water (why, I may never know -- Bluebell and I do a pretty good job of cleaning her between the two of us, so there's no need to resort to torture) while Blue and I eat, and then it's time for the mirror ritual.
Bluebell and I have created our own game in the kitchen, to keep us entertained when the Big Cat is busy. We take a handful of kibble from our bowl. Then, one by one, we start kicking the kibble around the kitchen. At some point, one of us decides the kibble prey has been properly killed, and it's time to gobble it down. Then, we go back for one of the other kibble we took from the bowl for the next round. It never gets old!
Actually, now that I've been talking about the kibble game, I kinda wanna go play it now ... would you mind? I'll try to check in again later. You know how it is, though, busy busy!
Nuzzles,
Violet

Saavik tagged me, so I guess now I have a reason to write my first diary entry!
I am supposed to share 7 facts about myself and then tag 7 of MY friends.
(This is hard, because at 11 weeks old, I'm still learning a lot about myself!)
1. Um, I am the master of the sneak attack.
2. I am not shy, but I let my sister go first all the time because I'd rather her be the guinea pig.
3. I have set a goal to be able to climb to the top of the curtains (right now I only get about a fifth of the way before the Big Cat hollers and I lose my concentration)
4. I can't figure out why I can't get into the bathtub: Something clear and hard is blocking me, and it hurts my head every time I try to jump in there.
5. I like salmon. Don't get me wrong, I'll eat anything -- chicken, fish, beef -- but I really like salmon.
6. I'm a nighttime cuddler. I don't want to be touched in the mornings or mid-day, but I need some loving come evening time.
7. I have pretty little spots all over my bitty belly!
I am tagging:
1. Samantha
2. Monday
3. Chantilly Lace
4. Oreo
5. Sneaker
6. Me-Yow
7. Angel
