We actually found her at a dog daycare up for adoption. Her mama had been hit by a car when she and her siblings were a week old. They were luckily found by a wonderful woman who took very wonderful care of them and got them started on their shots and everything. I went to pick up the puppy and fell in love with her and took her home right then!

Bio:
Elphaba is named after the character of the Wicked Witch from the Broadway musical "Wicked". Elphie is not really evil, she's just misunderstood. My kitten isn't evil at all, she's a sweetie pie. And obviously, she's a calico.

Up a Tree Without a Paddle

So I was THIS close to freedom. Mom opened the door to let the boy Woofs in, I saw my chance and I took it. Fast as lightning out the door. It was early in the morning and Mom didn't have her contacts in OR her glasses on, so she was totally blind...I'm ashamed to admit I took advantage of this fact. I ran to the little tree. She ran after me. I heard a bird, so I ran up the tree to get it. Drat, missed it...onto the roof of the garage to try again! At this point Mom couldn't see me anymore so she ran in the house to get her glasses and other Mom with the perfect vision. When they came out, I waved at them from on top of the garage then ran up the BIG tree! Wow, I was high up! For the next hour they both tried to coax me down. Lemme tell ya, going up was LOTS easier than coming down. I've got the cuts on my paws to prove it. Mom climbed up a ladder onto the roof of the garage to try and help me down. She got lots of skeeter bites for her effort. I'm surprised she didn't fall through, the garage is OLD, older than Mom even. ;) Like a hundred! So eventually I got bored in the tree and slid down onto the roof and walked to the other side that overlooks the neighbor's scary overgrown yard. I was pretty tired by this point, and didn't even put up a fight when Mom scooted over on her butt and grabbed me! Other Mom took me and put me in the house then helped Mom down off the roof. What an adventure I had!
