Think Good Thoughts For Loki!!

A week ago today, Loki was looking kind of sluggish. I thought that was odd, as he is usually the more active kitten, but I didn't think too much of it. When I got home from work, he was still sluggish.... so I thought "well, if he doesn't get better tomorrow, I will call the vet and ask for advice." That night, he collapsed and his hind legs apparently stopped working properly. YIKES! So we rushed him to the vet, they did about a million tests, (about $1000 worth, at this point), blood work, xrays, etc... and they can't find a single thing wrong with him. EXCEPT HE CAN'T WALK. So there was nothing we could really do but hope it gets better. On Saturday I took him back again, because I was worried he wasn't using the litterbox. After the vet DROPPED HIM on the cement floor (!!), he was crying, freaking out, and she said she thought he had a slipped disc or SOMETHING and that the only way to really tell was to see a kitty neurologist, have an MRI, and whatever. Hmmm - I work in a bookstore. I cannot possibly afford that. So in the meantime, she has given him steroids, which don't seem to be doing much, but he is eating ok and purring, so I guess he isn't TOO bad, I just want him to be back to normal. He is only 6 months old, and he is behaving like an 18 year old cat. *sigh* If everyone could just wish as hard as they can, and maybe that will bring us luck? WE LOVE YOU CATSTERS!!

Tibor's Lament

I have discovered a trick that makes the humans go berserk. If any of you other Krazy Katz are out there, get a pen, because this is great stuff. First, you go behind the curtains. Then, you climb the curtains on the inside. THEN, when you are on the ceiling... wait for it ... just STAY THERE. The humans won't be able to reach you, or even SEE you. It is brilliant. The problem is, though, that my humans are poor. So they have these crappy venetian blinds behind the curtains, so when I do my ultra-spycat like maneuver, you can hear me in timbuktu! PLUS, I want to creep silently along the curtain-rod, but it is a cheapo IKEA curtain rod, and I have fallen off TWICE! What am I supposed to do? These humans need to buy safer equipment for me to crawl on! Yes, it is on the ceiling. SO? What kind of cat would I be if I couldn't climb 12 feet? Sheesh.
