Arrival Story: Fire was a kitten of our next door neighbor's cat. The neighbor convinced our 3 year old son to cry so we would allow him to have this cute little kitten. We caved in and Fire was with us for many years.

Bio: Fire was a very loving and faithful cat. She was never spayed and gave us many litters for which we had the difficult task for finding homes. The pound or vets did not offer reasonably priced (nor did they require it) spaying back when Fire came to live with us. While young, she received a broken leg, the cause of which we never discovered. We had it set, twice, as she managed to get the first cast off. Other than that, Fire was a remarkably healthy cat for her whole life. She was a very good mother to her kittens and to the kittens of our other cat, Cloud. Cloud just walked away from all her kittens and Fire who had just given birth to her own litter, added all of Cloud's kittens to her hungry brood. She proudly presented us with many of her "catches of the day" (to her human mom's horror). In Fire's later years, her hearing began to go and she could not hear everything going on around her. Shortly after we moved to our new home, we lost Fire. We still miss her.
There aren't many photos of Fire so they can't be posted. Maybe there are some slides that we can locate and have printed and then scan them and add them to the picture section.

Shortly before 8:30am EST, Meowmy got some very sad news. Auntie Barbi called Meowmy to tell her that our dear furiend Cocoa had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He will always be a special part of my furmily and always in each heart. He left some big pawprints in each of those hearts. We are all still in shock. Please remember Auntie Barbi and Unkie Rob and all of Cocoa's sad siblings that he left behind to mourn and miss him. Cocoa was and is very special to my meowmy... she always loved to hear his cute little meows (sometimes very loud) as he chatted when Auntie Barbi and Meowmy were on the phone chatting. Rest in Peace, dear and special furiend. You will never be far from our hearts. We LOVE you, Cocoa. Clawdia and I were part of the welcoming party as you arrived at the Rainbow Bridge.

As many of you know, Meowmy is now on Facebook. This can be dangerous as she is not furry good with things like that and Facebook often catfuses her. That being said, she wanted to post something in my diary and in Clawdia's that someone sent to the beautiful new Angel Hazel Lucy. Meowmy was so touched by this poem and wanted to share it with furiends who may not have seen it before and who are not on Facebook. Meowmy apologizes to the purrson who sent it to sweet Hazel Lucy for not remembering who sent it.
Her Journey's Just Begun
Don't think of her as gone away
...her journey's just begun
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting
from the sorrow and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years
Think how she must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away
And think of her as living
in the hearts of those she touched
for nothing loved is ever lost
and she was loved so much!
We don't know the author, either. But isn't it beautiful?

Yesterday, sweet Angel Navin R. Johnson-Davis sent me a rainbow rosette. He said, "Happy belated birthday Fire! I would love to get together w/ you here at the Bridge & celebrate with you...Maybe we could have a picnic & catch ladybugs? All my love, Navin R. Johnson-Davis" Navin, this sounds like a lovely plan.
Yesterday, my furry handsome brofur-in-law Tuffy sent me a big Valentine box of chocolates (or so it seemed). He said, "Happy Valentine's Day my sweetest and most beautiful wife. Will you be my Valentine today and furever? I love you always and forever. You make my heart flutter whenever I think of you. All my love, kisses and deepest devotion. Love, Tuffy" Well, I scratched my head but I did remember that both my meowmy and Smokey (and Tuffy's) meowmy are both challenged... seriously challenged. MOL. Then, when Mojo opened her special present, it was explained. Yes, our meowmies are wonderpurr but we need to gently guide them and understand that they are only human. So, thank you to my handsome furhusband Smokey. Mojo told me about the mix up. I love you both... Smokey and Tuffy and I love my mother-in-law Peggy...
I hope all my furiends and their humans had a very Happy Valentines Day!
