Do you know what today is? Well, it is MY 8th birthday! You would think that my meowmy would have her act together enough to remember that, wouldn't you? Well, she did NOT remember!!!!!! Thank goodness that I received three pawmails from furiends who remembered. Many thanks to Tundra, Rory, Manytoes and Lynzee for the note and my beautiful birthday picture. Thanks, also, to Hazel Lucy and DA TABBIES O TROUT TOWNE for the lovely birthday wishes.

Most of you know that we have been very quiet on Catster in the past year. Well, some of it is because of all the catfusing changes made by Catster. We still have problems finding things with the new set up... but the main reason for our quiet time lately is the loss of our beloved McDuff who went to the Rainbow Bridge very suddenly and unexpectedly on August 7, 1011 and the loss of my beloved sisfur Kujo on November 29, 2011. We knew Kujo was sick with renal failure but did not expected her to cross the Rainbow Bridge so soon after her diagnosis. We did not know that she had developed pancreatitis, in addition to the renal failure and it took a toll on her body. Meowmy has really had a difficult time adjusting to the losses. She says that holes in the heart take lots of time to heal. I have tried to help her as much as I can but I still see her daily tears.
Now that Meowmy remembers it is my birthday today, I know things will only get better.
Shortly before 8:30am EST, we got some very sad news. Auntie Barbi called Meowmy to tell her that our dear furiend Cocoa had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He will always be a special part of our furmily and always in our hearts. He left some big pawprints in each of our hearts. We are all still in shock. Please remember Auntie Barbi and Unkie Rob and all the sad siblings that Cocoa has left behind to mourn and miss him. Cocoa was and is very special to my meowmy... she always loved to hear his cute little meows (sometimes very loud) as he chatted when Auntie Barbi and Meowmy were on the phone chatting. Rest in Peace, dear and special furiend. You will never be far from our hearts. We LOVE you, Cocoa.
Oh boy, today is my 7th birthday. Time to celebrate. *makes sad face* Unfortunately, Meowmy is not feeling furry well today and has spent part of the day on the sofa... just laying there. She developed a sneezing and runny nose last night and woke up this morning with her eyes feeling like they were popping out, her ears hurting, her teeth hurting, a sore throat and on and on. Well, so much for my celebrations today. Pffffffttttt. But I WON'T allow this to dampen my day!!! Meowmy has told me that she will make it up to me when she feels better.
