What a great day this will be for my earth furmily. First, I was honored by being one of today's DDP honorees. It was extra special for my meowmy who has been really sad about me lately. She has spells where my all too soon departure from the family really makes her extra sad. This has been a week like that. So, my DDP honor was really special. Thank you Catster HQ and Diary Gal for selecting me and putting a smile on my meowmy's face and a tear in her eye.
I was furry honored to be selected with three special furiends. My concats to Taz, Margo and Hondo on their DDP honor today. It is special to be picked along with sweet furiends. My concats to the DOTD Penelope, too. I don't really know Penelope but being DOTD is really special for her.
Today is also the 6th birthday of my sisfur Clawdette. Meowmy was so sad when I had to leave her and she wanted another white kitty. She searched for a while to find Clawdette. So, it is even more special that I was chosen as a DDP on Clawdette's birthday. Meowmy says that while Clawdette and I have furry different personalities that we also have many similar traits. Clawdette loves to amewse herself by playing ball... just like I did. She also loves to lay down on Meowmy's left side at night while Meowmy is watching TV... just like I did. Clawdia and I are similar and yet furry different. Another thing Clawdette and I share is an April birthday. My 11th birthday is April 10th. I will celebrate my birthday at the Bridge but I know Meowmy will celebrate my special day on earth.
Our very dear and special furiends, Angel Wanda and her precious furmily sent me a pink iced cupcake to celebrate my DDP honor. They said, "Congrats on your daily diary pick! We are so glad to see you back on Catster's pages! Much love to you, Wanda, Norman and family"
The most adorable Hazel Lucy sent me a beautifur cross. She said, "Lovely angel Clawdia, Concats on DDP for April 6th. much love, Hazel Lucy" Hazel Lucy is the official inspector for those pawsome tranquility blankets and hats and collars that her talented meowmy makes. Hazel Lucy is the best inspector effur.
My dear and precious sisfur-in-law Angel Eve sent me a rainbow rosette. She said, "Oh my precious sisfur in law, you are a DDP today! I am so happy for you and my family sends warmest happiest concats! We are so proud of you and we love you so much!" Eve was so lucky to know special love the last part of her all too short life. Because of little Eve we all beliEVE. I love you, Eve.
Angel Calvin sent me a beautifur rainbow rosette. He said, "Way to go on being a diary pick today! Let's fly by your family's house and sprinkle down some angel dust!" Let's do it, Calvin. I know my meowmy is in special need of it. She has been furry sad just thinking about me lately. She still misses me so much. And we should fly by and sprinkle some angel dust on your furmily's home today, too. I know your pawrents still miss you.

Sweet Angel Ava Corrine sent me a lucky ladybug. She said, "For your DDP and your Birthday this coming weekend.....I'm at the Bridge too and I will celebrate with you!" I would be so honored to celebrate my birthday with you. I know how much both of our meowmies miss us. We will fly over them and sprinkle them with angel dust to help them feel better.
Thank you to all my special furiends who helped me celebrate my diary honor. It has meant so much to me and to my meowmy.
A special thanks to my wonderpurr angel furiend Buddie and his sweet furmily for their message. They sent a sweet pmail and said,

I want to wish ALL of my precious furiends a very Happy Easter! My earth furmily had a lot of people over today and all my siblings were locked away for their own safety. They weren't happy about it but Meowmy said it must be that way. I was furry busy flying by to check on them today and for the past few weeks.
I want to let effuryone know that our Meowmy and Dad said my earth furmily must tell all of you what good kitties they have been. You see.. on March 20th both of my pawrents got really sick. My meowmy did not get out of bed for two days except to go to see someone called John. My dad was the same. At first, they thought they had gotten food poisoning but they talked to Grandma and Aunt Barbara who had eaten the very same thing as my pawrents when they went out to eat on Saturday evening and neither one of them was sick. My pawrents both were hit with the problem about 3 AM. After finding out that they were the only ones affected, they decided that it was probably a virus. During the time that my pawrents were seriously affected, my earth siblings were PURRfect angels. Normally, they do squabble daily and they are most demanding at food time. Not one of them did anything during the time our pawrents were so sick. My dad said that you never knew cats were in the house. My meowmy says she is so thankful that they were such good and caring furbabies. And she was thankful I was watching over her, too.
Meowmy only ate crackers, toast, applesauce, jello and bananas and drank Pepsi or Coke when she finally ate on the third day. Those items were her only source of food until Friday (April 2nd). She just could not be around food. Meowmy says it is a lousy way to diet for sure. My dad started eating much sooner than that. My meowmy has a sluggish gallbladder that in past years has bothered her but it has been 4 or 5 years since her last spell... the sickness seemed to have triggered a really bad attack with her gallbladder on Monday the 29th. She was ready to go to the hospital one night this past week. Then, on Friday, things began to ease a little for her. We had planned this Easter gathering for a while now and Meowmy was determined not to let this spoil things. Dad was ready to call it off. Today turned out to be very special and the food was delicious and Meowmy ate. The only down side is that our air conditioner unit downstairs is NOT working and it is to be in or near the 90's. Not good timing weatherwise for a nonworking air conditioner.
Meowmy says she is happy to have things getting back to normal. She said she feels like she let our 90 year old furiend down as he has had to do most of the feeding of his cats since Meowmy got sick. She needs to help him with the litterbox duty and take Tiger in for bloodwork to see what his BUN and creatinine are doing. Tiger is 14 years old. If any of you who have had renal issues have any advice for Meowmy in helping with Tiger, please pmail her. Crawford loves Tiger and Tiger loves Crawford. Crawford is going blind and has a bad back. Even his surgery to cement his spine has not relieved all of his pain.
Prince was in the hospital for 3 days and 2 nights this week with a big hairball. Dr. Booker was able to break it up and move it out of his tummy. Cassidy had to go see Ene Ma again. Cassie says she does not like Ene Ma. So, now the plan for almost all of my earth furmily is to get Laxatone twice weekly and 2 tablespoons of pumpkin when Meowmy can sneak it in on them. And, to make matters worse, their doc doc broke her ankle. So, it was a sickly week for my earth furmily and for my sweet doc doc. We know there is a new dawning now... Easter has come! We are so thankful for the love we have been shown that was "written in red".
On March 19th, Wanda sent my furmily and me a cute little bunny. She said, "Thank you and your family so much for the pink cupcake, pink is my favorite color and it was yummy! We sure have missed you all, hope you get some time to spend here, as we are probably not the only ones missing you all! Love & hugs Wanda"

I am sending you some ice cream so that you and your loved ones can join me in celebration.Thank you for remembering me and for being the sweetest sis-in-law ever" Hazel and her precious furmily have a furry special place in the hearts of all of my furmily!

*stomps paws* Yesterday was the 1st anniversary for my precious furhusband Sammy and me. My meowmy and typist did not allow me to send Sammy an anniversary giftie or message because her ol' brain had it fixed in her mind... or what is left of her mind... that our anniversary was today. NOT. I know that my precious Sammy will forgive me but I am still upset with my meowmy for allowing this to happen.
Sammy and I have had the purrfect life and he is the best furhusband a girl could ever want. I am the luckiest cat at the Bridge. I love you, Sammy.

My pawrents were out of town all day yesterday. They went to a place about 2 1/2 hours away called Durham. My dad's cousin lives there and they had a celebration of life pawty and dinner for my dad's cousin Kaysee. Kaysee's doc doc tried to take all her insides out. He took either 2/3 or 3/4 of her pancreas, her gallbladder, her bile duct, either 1/4 or 1/3 of her stomach, some of her small intestines and probably more than that. You see, Kaysee had pancreatic cancer but it was insitu which they say is good. Now, her tummy is permanently marked for her chemo and radiation treatments. My pawrents said her doc doc said she has a chance of 100% cure IF she follows all the strict regiment and completes the treatment. So, the family was celebrating life. They had a great time and we give thanks for Kaysee and her new gift of life.
This afternoon, my handsome furhusband Sammy sent me a barbeque Grill. He said, "Hello my dearest and most beautiful wife. What a gorgeous Labor Day weekend; it is an ideal day for a cookout. Why don't you sit back, relax and prop up your cute little tootsies and I will make us dinner? All my love and kisses forever;always"

We gained a very sweet furiend named Sammie at the Bridge yesterday. Many kitty angels were gathered to welcome a special furiend. We will help you when you need it, Sammie. We are sorry you had to leave your earth furmily.
My furmily and I send your grieving pawrents our deepest sympathy. You will live furever in their hearts. You made many special memories for them.

Angel Wanda's sweet brofur Edward lost his earthly battle with FIP on August 12th, after a valiant and brave fight of 10 weeks. Our furmily is deeply saddened by this but we know that sweet Edward is no longer suffering and is with his angel furmily at the Bridge. Godspeed and much love to Edward. We send our love and deepest sympathy to his grieving earth furmily.

From my meowmy ~ This story really touched my heart. I hope you will learn that you cannot go only by outside appearances. See the love that Ugly had inside him... not what his outer being stated. I hope that I will meet Ugly across that "Rainbow Bridge". He certainly has a piece of my heart. I do not know the original author. Jo Ann
Everyone in the apartment complex I lived in knew who Ugly was. Ugly was the resident tomcat. Ugly loved three things in this world: fighting, eating garbage, Oh, and shall we say, love.
The combination of these things combined with a life spent outside had their effect on Ugly. To start with, he had only one eye, and where the other should have been was a gaping hole. He was also missing his ear on the same side, his left foot appeared to have been badly broken at one time, and had healed at an unnatural angle, making him look like he was always turning the corner.
His tail had long ago been lost, leaving only the smallest stub, which he would constantly jerk and twitch. Ugly would have been a dark gray tabby striped-type, except for the sores covering his head, neck, even his shoulders with thick, yellowing scabs. Every time someone saw Ugly there was the same reaction.
"That's one UGLY cat!!"
All the children were warned not to touch him, the adults threw rocks at him, hosed him down, squirted him when he tried to come in their homes, or shut his paws in the door when he would not leave.
Ugly always had the same reaction. If you turned the hose on him, he would stand there, getting soaked until you gave up and quit. If you threw things at him, he would curl his lanky body around feet in forgiveness.
Whenever he spied children, he would come running meowing frantically and bump his head against their hands, begging for their love. If ever someone picked him up he would immediately begin suckling on your shirt, earrings, whatever he could find.
One day Ugly shared his love with the neighbors huskies. They did not respond kindly, and Ugly was badly mauled. From my apartment I could hear his screams, and I tried to rush to his aid. By the time I got to where he was laying, it was apparent Ugly's sad life was almost at an end.
Ugly lay in a wet circle, his back legs and lower back twisted grossly out of shape, a gaping tear in the white strip of fur that ran down his front. As I picked him up and tried to carry him home I could hear him wheezing and gasping, and could feel him struggling. I must be hurting him terribly I thought. Then I felt a familiar tugging, sucking sensation on my ear-
Ugly, in so much pain, suffering and obviously dying was trying to suckle my ear. I pulled him closer to me, and he bumped the palm of my hand with his head, then he turned his one golden eye towards me, and I could hear the distinct sound of purring. Even in the greatest pain, that ugly battled-scarred cat was asking only for a little affection, perhaps some compassion.
At that moment I thought Ugly was the most beautiful, loving creature I had ever seen. Never once did he try to bite or scratch me, or even try to get away from me, or struggle in any way. Ugly just looked up at me completely trusting in me to relieve his pain.
Ugly died in my arms before I could get inside, but I sat and held him for a long time afterwards, thinking about how one scarred, deformed little stray could so alter my opinion about what it means to have true pureness of spirit, to love so totally and truly. Ugly taught me more about giving and compassion than a thousand books, lectures, or talk show specials ever could, and for that I will always be thankful.
He had been scarred on the outside, but I was scarred on the inside, and it was time for me to move on and learn to love truly and deeply. To give my total to those I cared for. Many people want to be richer, more successful, well liked, beautiful, but for me, I will always try to be Ugly.

Friday morning my earth furmily sadly learned that our furiend Tyler had to come to the Bridge on Thursday evening. My earth furmily was in shock and just heartbroken since learning this very sad news. My earth furmily and I send Tyler and his grieving furmily our love and sympathy.
Tyler has always made us laugh. He was such a brave kitty and is one of the first kitties we loved from the get-go after we joined Catster. Tyler has faced his illness with such grace, dignity and humor throughout the whole time.
Tyler will always be among our list of special heroes! The Rainbow Bridge gained a very special angel, indeed.
On Friday, as Hooch was preparing to write his diary, we learned the sad, sad news about Tyler and our typist had to gather herself enough to help Hooch write his own diary.
I only wish the my earth furmily could have seen all the angels gathered to welcome Tyler to the Rainbow Bridge.

It is with a deeply saddened heart that I write to say my sweet furiend Fela crossed the Bridge today. Fe fought a very valiant battle against cancer and, sadly, lost. My heart and that of my whole family is breaking right now. Please send Fe's grieving family your love and pray that they will find the peace and comfort they need right now. It was a very unselfish decision to release Fe from the earthly battle. Know that we will love and remember you forever, Fe. We welcome Fe, but we are so sad he had to leave his earth family too soon.
